Jaffar slept with me all night. In my bed (so what, No bugs on him) but he’s now back in with his ladies in the coop, crowing his little Cochin head off. What a good rooster!

Well, there is a reason most of the hooligans have the names they have. Besides Wasabi and Siracha the rest including Ezzie are named after grandparents. My great-great Grandfather was named Ezra. Nellie is one of my great-grandmothers name. Grannie is after my other great-grandmother, that one is better then Melvinia, and everyone called her grannie anyway. Then we have Berthie, after another grandmother Bertha, and Lassie technically is a great-aunt of mine. If I had finished out the theme and not let Rosie have Wasabi and Siracha we would also have a Ruth and Eunice. Plus Rosie still ranting that I have not let her name a chicken Wasabi.

I like @MaryJanet’s approach. I believe she names her hens after women who were important to her in her family. I am sure she will correct me if I am wrong.
I look to those name first (hence I have Minnie) but they don’t always fit somehow.

Is she choosing to roost in there as well?

No. She roosts in the main coop with everyone. She just spends time laying in there growing feathers.

She is a lot less active when she molts.
