I liked your idea of something temporary just to see if indeed that helps address the problem and is less drastic than shaving her head!Oh, I had no idea you could do that! I was thinking like a womans hair clip to hold them down for a bit just to see if that was the issue or not. In retrospect that would probably scare her more then cutting them would
I hope it goes smoothly for everyone.
Thank you!Adorable pictures![]()

I assumed you meant something like this:

Thanks Manue!@LozzyR congratulations for having Lottie and Snowy on Picture of the week. It's a lovely tribute to Lottie, I hope it made you happy.
Thanks RC! It was a nice surprise. Thanks for alerting us. I would have missed it for days.
So lovely to see them on the home page @LozzyR
They were hatched on May 15th. I believe they are very closely aged to Bob's babies. How old are they?![]()

The evil bat is at it again and this time she has conspirators. Not only had Momma hen been hiding her eggs, suddenly I stopped getting eggs from Squirrel as well. The real shocker is if you look close enough there are a few pullet eggs from one of the hooligans as well. This is under my house, had to take down a piece of tin about a month ago to retrieve a chainsaw from under the floor. Dad decided not to fully reattach it for the time being. I would not have found them except when I was handing out treats Squirrel came tearing out from under the house for her share. Thankfully I found them before the ole bat went to sitting or Raven or Corona found them and disappeared. As soon as my power pack charges up tin is being reattached and I need to go throttle a evil hen or 3.

I find this really odd. Either she doesn't want to go roosting, or she really has an orientation problem ?
At this point I really think it's a different problem than her leg's weakness, because once you put her on the ramp, she manages it pretty quickly.
Do you think she wants to go and doesn't know how to or is she scared for some reason ?
I agree it's strange. I had thought perhaps she needs @BY Bob there at the base of the ramp to coax her to that point, then to go up. The treats idea is a good one! She does follow directions more or less. But I think there's an oddness to her behaviour too. It may be neurological, and maybe could be improved with training possibly? I think @RoyalChick mentions her vision still isn't great. I would begin with more poof trimming to address the possible vision issue. Unless thet latest mug shot is an old one, she can't see right in front of her. And here she didn't see the others go up, I think.I would maybe try my first idea, to give a treat once she's on the roost (if you can reach her ?)
Or, put a treat on the ramp once Glynda and Lady Featherington have gone up (but the problem is that they may come down to get it.).
If you tried this for a few days and it makes a difference, then her behaviour is due to a lack of motivation. If it doesn't change anything it would mean she really can't, either because of her leg or her sight ?
