Was awoken at 03:50am with the coyotes howling up a storm, yipping and howling and carrying on.

I checked the barn cams to ensure the ponies were ok out in the paddock, they were fine. I yelled at the coyotes to get them to move on, and of course this set Mr Pompei to start crowing at 4am…. And of course my alarm goes off at 4:45am …..

Just checked cams again and everyone looks ok so better get chores done and get to work…

How much is that doggie in the window…..

I’m just a trollin along this morning. Woke up congested and extremely thirsty. No Marie, my Covid ailment is hanging on as strong as it can. (But I’m a fighter) but I’m gonna stay in bed for a few more hours

Awww Looking good Hattie! And if she is feeling at all self conscious… I offer up Ziptie in her current state as consolation. Surely it will cheer her up. She will not be participating in FBF anytime in the near future to say the least. Her bottom and wing pits are in much the same state. At least now I know why she was being so cross with her tribe mates! I also keep explaining to people here that all the feathers floating around are normal, no one has been plucked, and although quite a sight, all my poor half naked and half porcupine chooks are just growing fresh plumage.View attachment 3252355

Thing is moulting too. She hasn't turned up nekkid, but she's irritable and DONT TOUCH ME toward anyone....very much NOT her usual self. Some days she eats, others not so much. She's in need of a crest trim, but until she's settled, not going to happen. Silver has a wing feather sticking out sideways, and Pear is looking frumpish. Storm is chasing any of the boys who even look at her. None have gone the nekkid birdpine routine, but there's some uncomfortable going around. Even Cheetah is looking tatty. Only ones not are the assorted junior crew and the girls are mostly hiding from the boys.
