🎼 nothing but blue skies is all I see, and Seattle happiness just a waiting for me! :D
I’m hoping my brother has some fresh smoked salmon! 😋
I received a call from home. Seems that my little scheme worked. I’m headed back home to testify, and get my chooks back home where they belong.
(I cannot go into any other details)
The birds are all safe and healthy though.

Going by the first picture you can breathe a bit more for the moment. Yes I see copper color in the hackles, but at almost 7 weeks old a pullet that is going to have a full copper Hackle marking will start to show color. Besides comb, watch it's back and wings. A pullet will not develop rich copper coloring anywhere on the back or wings. Your known boy will probably have those markings start to appear within a week.
Thank you that is very helpful info and tells me exactly what to look for!

The BCM Roo is indeed already showing some copper on his back it’s underneath his baby feathers I saw them today.

The other black chick is and always has been significantly smaller and has much smaller thinner legs BUT did sprout a comb early it just never developed like the big Roo. She, that could be a he, is determined to keep me guessing for the time being lol. That said even if I do end up with few more Roos in the end I would still consider myself extremely fortunate in my ratio of Roos to Pullets.

That’s really poor form. Does he think he’s still at school? I wouldn’t be going there again, although you could have a conversation with him and let him know that you found his remarks hurtful and unnecessary. Don’t do it in an emotionally heightened state though.

I'm glad to hear that you protected them in this manner. Is this long term or temporary?
Time will tell. I hope the judge is sympathetic to my problem.

Geez that Bernadette is determined. She pushed her way inbetween Diana and the wall tonight when Diana was practically glued to the wall. That earned her some pretty aggressive pecking from Diana (which is unusual), but she held firm.
Tonight she gets to sleep in the prime spot by the wall!
Wow! She was willing to pay the price and won. Well, good for her! Cheeky girl.

Got the wood cut for the "look don't touch" pen that goes in the run for the chicks to spend some time with the older girls. Want to get them out there while it's still warm out. Guess I wore myself out. But I'm wide awake now. My knee has decided to mess up on me.
