Truth be told, if she had not been cleared today I may have throttled him myself. Keeping her off the horse has really tested my patience and sanity. So happy for her (and you)!

I am really sorry this happened to Chaco and to you. From what I know of colic in horses, you most likely made the best decision for her. I personally knew a horse (belonged to a good friend) who was treated for this, and to no avail. It was very painful for the horse.Situation with Chaco is now over. Yes I am understandably upset about this whole thing. But I believe that I have done the right thing regarding her. She was such a sweet princess horse, and didn’t deserve to get sick. I’m okay with my decision. But yes I’m terribly sad about it too. I just need to finish some paperwork. Glad I have lots of pictures of her to remember her by.
I am sad to read of Daisy’s passing. Such a pretty girl.It is with great sadness that I announce the peaceful passing of my beloved Daisy. I had no warning as honestly she has had a great month in truth. Today I saw her dust bathing, bullying her way to more then her fair share of dried cherries and picking on Twiggy. I went out at dark to make sure everyone was roosted and do a final egg check when I found Bubba snuggled up beside her. She was still warm so she could not have been gone long as I had went out back to dump out some leftovers a hour prior and she was scratching around. I have her body wrapped up and in a box and will bury her in the morning. I will admit to feeling angry and cheated that she was only 2 1/2 years old and not a high production breed, yet I've lost her to presumed tumor in her reproductive tract.
Rest in peace my sweet girl. I hope where you are now there endless minnows and young snakes for you to eat.

That’s awful. I’ve never had a snake bite me, but I think I would freak out ! Just the idea!I got a chicken snake out of the coop this morning. I got snake bit twice In the process, but I managed to get it out it bit one of my leghorns on it's leg. And it was squirming all around my Rhode Island Red Hailey. I had no Idea how long it had been out there before I came out and If it bit my other hens. I wish I had some photos for you of the beast, It was about 6 ft long. My chickens are all doing fine. I am as well. This is not the only time I've been snake bit, but I am glad this one is non-venomous. I've gotten chicken snakes out of friends coops before, this is just one of the few snakes I will get out with my own hands, but My chickens are safe! For now...........

It was nice to have you back. Sorry about the illness.I spent five days in PA (not a fun trip, an illness in my family), and I couldn’t help but notice how pretty everything is in the woods and country. Autumn is so beautiful up north, I kind of miss it.
