Indeed so! The treats I got are dried river shrimp and minnows. They smell quite fishy but you can clearly see they are shrimp and minnows - there was a whole small fish in there.
I got them at Tractor Supply and thought they would be a big hit. I wonder if they would like it better if I rehydrated them, or if they really don't like inferior quality shrimp!
I always give them the shrimp tails from my Pad Thai treat (I get that for myself once a week) and they go nuts.
Hmmm.

You've forever ruined them by giving them 'the real thing" I mean, really! Who wants 'poor man's caviar - cottage cheese and catsup - when you can have the real thing???

I fear you are right. But they are the real thing. I can see shrimp heads, tails, and bodies as well as fish heads, tails, and fins.

I would almost bet mine would turn their beaks up as well. Who wants dried minnows when 2/3rds of the year they can go catch the real thing themselves.

Her 'friend', surprisingly enough, stays in their box.....EXCEPT when I take gimpy girl out for therapy...then she doesn't like being alone and gets into trouble! Here she is escaping their box:

I love a good frosty mug on a good frosty morning

Need to test/bottle the banana pudding brandy and the mixed berry cider before everyone arrives.

But first the briskets need sliced as soon as I get caffeinated

Is she able to put her foot in a flat on ground position?

Yes, that was a 'before therapy' pic, and she was 'gently thinking about' stepping. I'm about to do therapy now (waiting for ibuprofen to kick in first). She has taken a couple of 'sorta hobble-ish steps' It doesn't really support her weight yet, but the foot 'flattens out' if you will, once she attempts to put weight on it...with a close but not quite 90 degree bend.

I laughed as soon as I read your post, because as I was clicking 'post' on mine, I almost didn't because my brain said: "RC is going to grill you on that foot position!"

You know me too well! That is GREAT! So now it is really just painful for her and that will pass over time. So happy for her!

I fear you are right. But they are the real thing. I can see shrimp heads, tails, and bodies as well as fish heads, tails, and fins.

well, sort of. dried never quite tastes as good as fresh, and they are princesses, you know! (think 'princess and the pea") they have discerning tastes!!

You know me too well! That is GREAT! So now it is really just painful for her and that will pass over time. So happy for her!

I'm actually not sure about painful bit, but I feel better giving pain meds first just in case. It is more about just plain not supporting her. Though she HAS started to get a small amount of 'self movement' in the lower leg + feet, it is very limited strength and definitely SMALL amount of self movement. However, before it was none...so something is happening there! She rarely fights me or squawks...usually if I accidently move the upper part of the leg too much is the only time. She is starting to get a bit of 'grip' with her toes on my finger. Not much, but it IS more than the 'passive curl' she initially had, and she can make her toes wiggle a tiny bit! I'm so happy for, and proud of, her!

I missed that something had happened to her. It sounds almost like nerve damage that Butter dealt with. With cage rest, therapy and time, almost 3 months, she was back to walking with a slight limp. After about 5 months the limp was gone and she was back to running.

Ok, so yes, in this instance I have went on full enabling mode. Rosie and her buddy are going to a pumpkin patch today. Her buddy is the one she rides with and she also has chickens. In fact, her favorite chicken is a Blueberry brother I gave her named Pepper. Her buddy Malory has always wanted Branch, asks for him every time she is up. I may have causally mentioned to her on facetime this morning that I had a Branch son that needs a home. If her daddy say's yes, tonight Hoppy may have found his home. Mallory already has said yes repeatedly, and well, let's just say her daddy spoils her and does not know how to say no. Do I feel guilty....nope.....I have broke no rules, the only thing he has put his foot down on is when I have her no more Squishmallow toys. She has over 100 of them things.
