Is there a place to put a hot water bottle near her...of do you have some rice and an old pillow case? Heat the rice in the Microwave, put in pillow case and put near/under her. (what is she roosting on...can you wrap and zip-tie teh heated rice around her roost?

Sorry, only thoughts I hav! I don't know if you have electricity out there, so could use a heat late of not? If you can, drive 2 nails or 2 cup hooks into wall, and hang heater place (they make ones that can go in nest boxes, etc., and have small holes in each corner for mounting...but if can get hooks to work, makes it much easier to put up and take down...
Thanks. I think I’ll run a microwave disk out to her. Maybe I can ball bungee it near her.

I hung up the microwave disk beside Flo, but in doing so, disturbed Minnie Minnie, who left her other side. However, I remembered that I had a 4-watt pet bed warmer and strapped it to the roost underneath her. It’s running off a littke power tool inverter.

Now I’m reading the pet should not come into direct contact with it and there’s only a thin towel between the pad and her feet, so I may go back out and adjust it so it’s under the quadrupled up towel I normally have on the roost. or maybe I’ll just put another thick towel over it.

Long night for you I recon.

Sorry, about all the posts on this. I did go back out there and the little heat pad is working! Also, Minnie Minnie was back next to Flo, which is great. So Flo has Minnie on one side, her heat disk on the other and little heating pad beneath her feet. I took one of those pads that are used to lay dishes on and bungied that on top of the heating pad.

I bring my chooks inside, if it’s too cold
I know you do, Alex. ❤️

I did that with Ester when she had a hard molt in the middle of winter, as I’m sure you remember. Flo seems to be taking this molt pretty well and I think she’d be stressed if I removed her from the flock. I’m actually pretty excited about her little set up. I’m tempted to get a couple other little heating pads and inverter set ups for the future.

I have a feeling you are joking. But just in case you aren’t, what I meant was there may have been some pieces of hay that were still slightly green instead of all dried out. That would make a little more sense as to why she ate them. But it was still a bad idea. Lol
Nope wasn't joking 🤗

Sometimes people use different names for things so I was curious as to what sort of plant it was 😊

But gotcha! Hay may have contained bits that were not cured correctly. 👍

Awaiting bloodwork , but other than that, Jaffar didn’t cough at any time during the trip. Veterinarian can’t find any obstruction in his breathing 😮‍💨. :idunno
He started coughing a little, when we got back home.
Duck No… no, no, no, no, NO! It’s the weather, dust, he’s going to Fing be fine. And you tell him that for me

Sorry I am not keeping up, I’ve been busy working on the house and I swear I will post an update once I get some decent tax photos 😂 I just dropped in and realized I’m so far behind I don’t even know where to start catching up… so I’m sending positive thoughts to everyone and thank you all for bearing with me not being here enough. I promise I’m not dropping off… I’m working on our housing so intensively right now that I just can’t keep up here.

Look what I found in my chickens clean coop this morning

Marie I am having an awful time keeping up here, could you please remind me who you have in your coop? Other than Princess, I don’t recall exactly, but I’m a little concerned by the lash egg. I also know you have some ex battery type girls, and you may need to add some extra companions (I would suggest heritage breeds if you can find some over rescues) but you don’t want to end up with a lone chicken if you can avoid that. 🤞🙏❤️
