I know 38 is young for this but it is something that has needed to be done for several years now. Due to my family history it also does not shock me. My mom had to wait with the same problems until she was 40. My grandmother and everyone of her sisters had it done either right at 40 or a year or two before. I had a first cousin have it done at 31 due to cervical cancer and 2 more have 1 ovary removed due to cysts. I am tired of the no energy, constant pain and other issues. I have not felt human so to say in a good 5 years and have been told I have to wait because I was young. I am very angry that to even get to this point I had to have the IUD torture device before insurance would approve. When they placed it 2 years ago next month both cysts were there, but were only 1 and 3 cm. The IUD was "supposed" to keep them the same size or hopefully shrink them. That obviously did not happen. I already got a call back for the pre-surgery labs, guess who is slightly anemic, me. Does it surprise me, not in the least.
:hugs :hugs

You should have had that put years ago, your chances of getting pregnant even if you wanted more wee ones would have been very low 😢😢 such needless suffering.

OK don’t dwell anymore on it - it’s going to get done, and in a couple months you will start to feel better, and by Spring hopefully you will be all healed up and have a spring in your step 🥰🥰

Chicken in a bag 😊

Went to my niece’s and wormed her critters, glad I did they look like they might have mites. I had it out with her about her coop and the state of it. To weigh them I put them in a shopping bag hahaha. I am on two minds to go and bring them here. But when I go out west my mum will need to deal with them…. Will discuss with my mum….

Any ways they were all very good and they all took their meds 😊

It was such a gorgeous day here for November, a good day to do a herd check on n my niece’s flock 🥰

You are not going to introduce infection with your finger. Wash your hands good before and after. Don't touch your face after until you have washed your hands.
There is no harm in using gloves but also no harm doing it without gloves, other than cleaning under your nail really well. All will be fine.

Use coconut oil as lubricant if you have it. If you feel an egg, paint along the edges of the shell with the coconut oil to provide lubrication so it can more easily slip out.
I used KY but I could have used coconut oil, I have it, thanks. The glove was kind of helpful. I kept the very end at the tip lightly loose and went in slowly with a little wiggle to ease in, and the glove never got tight.
@ChicoryBlue I'm very sorry I was absent from the thread last night. I will keep checking all day to see any updates. You can always PM me as well if you want. I am praying for you both.
Thanks so much!
Yes I am also checking to see any update 🥺

I am sure she is busy with checking Peanut ❤️
I was with her for a couple hours and then had to go off to the new outpatient PT.

I'm afraid I'm seeing Peanut stand and slightly heave, while slightly hunched, yet alternating with foraging and looking okay. So she is not okay.

Any word on Peanut today? :fl :idunno
Thanks for your thoughts. Not sure what the next step should be.
Sounds like you did a great job. Well done!
If you didn’t feel an egg then probably it isn’t that.
I somehow missed she had mites. Could it all just be discomfort from mites around her vent?
So glad she is doing better. You too I hope?
Yes, treated with permethrin 10% solution last Saturday. But she'd had the diarrhea before that. I'm not sure what to do next. They should have a second treatment with the spray soon. I'm wondering about an infection now.

I'm okay. I did need the rest last night, and Peanuts spa and all did take a long time today. I got reassurances from the PT lady that I'm both doing well walking (weirdly, but hardly needing the cane) and am also insanely weak with a certain groin muscle group, confirming why it feels so awkward to walk and why I can barely get my foot above and into a shoe in a controlled manner despite doing the previous exercises religiously. New sets of exercises to add to what I'm already doing. Also reassured that the operation did not cut into those ligaments (I was fearing a rotator-cuff situation of lifelong pain there) but did stretch them quite a bit and they need time and me exercising them to knit back properly.

I had this at 44 after a couple years of wrong diagnosis and finally cancer dx. I am very happy for you! Troubles there are the worst. Surgical menopause can be rough (hot flashes to the extreme) but can be eased somewhat and may last only some months at their worst. I am wishing you the speedy recovery you deserve, and the truly wonderful feeling of a peaceful belly!
She certainly looked like she was enjoying her spa treatment. Maybe she just has a belly ache and the runs 😟 wonder if a treatment of some antibiotics in case she has gastritis 🥺
I'm wondering about this, not for gastritis but some egg production /salpingitis problem. I have feared she could end up with it as her eggs have been an issue since she began laying. 😥

I did not need a attack rooster after all. All it took was a ultra-sound followed by a oh my god and surgery is scheduled. Thanks to 2 cysts on one ovary, 1 6cm and 1 8cm I have to have a total hysterectomy December 13. This is on top of at least 7 fibroid tumors.
Mine was similar. No cysts on ovaries, but 10cm fibroid (with necrosis), whole slew of smaller ones. No lifting anything as heavy as a gallon of milk for several weeks. No driving until can do the lifting without pain (stepping on brake involves clenching your core). VERY worth it. :hugs

Sounds like you PT is going well — you know your body best, If you feel you can do more then try, but do not over do it! I am sure you PT has told you how important it is to do the exercises, ever notice how they like to repeat that! How it your pain level ?

It might be a good idea if you suspect salpingitis then to give antibiotics, Bob might have better thoughts on this. One thing I am happy to hear is that she is eating. Ok I will check in later to see how both of you are doing 💕 I feel like I should put you and Rebecca and Peanut on my chesterfield, put your feet up on the coffee table, wrap you in a quilt and give you hot camomile tea 🥰 (sardines for peanut though ha!).

Oh wow it’s. Winter wonderland out there! It’s like that in Alberta, and the Prairies here, this looks like a long winter for you - stay warm an DONT OVER DO IT!
Log on the fire, then go out to work on stuff so toasty spot to warm up in later. Last round involved no shoveling. Dug out the small hay bale sled belonging to one of the boys, loaded up the bale of pine shavings and drug it out to the coop. Collected 2 more eggs (one was cracked), tossed shavings into all the nest boxes and dumped the rest in a heap in the middle. No one was interested in going outside, but all protested the change. Now they have something to do.

Oh dear I feel for you ladies I could just cry! I feel that my simple little issue is just an annoyance! I just want to wrap you all up and ply you with tea and homemade cookies 🥰

Hugs to you ladies and the wee hens who are not feeling well.

Enjoying the nice weather, Raven and two of the Red Ladies
