That's not good. I hope you get your meds soon.

The Teens think its to cold 🥶 to go out in the run but demand the pop door be opened anyway. 🤦‍♀️ Picky chickens!

While I was out opening said door this morning, I spent a few minutes in the coop with them and what do I see right at my feet…. Oreo doing that awkward wing dance for Ginger and then making an awkward grab for her neck… he missed her entirely and got yelled at for his attempt by Ginger. Poor sweet Oreo started a few steps to give chase but decided better of it which was likely a wise decision seeing as how he is outnumbered 10:1. I tried not to laugh but failed.

Score from the BidFTA auction!

Glynda does not stop moving often but when she does she will hang out with her bestie Lady Featherington.

We may just have an egg coming as well. I have now caught Glynda checking out the nest box in Hattie House several times. So today I put fresh straw in those nest boxes and the nest boxes in Cluckle Hut.

This upsets me some as it makes it more likely that the egg will be white. Of course there is nothing I can do about it at this point.
Because early laying means white eggs?
I would separate her though just in case it is viral 😢😢
As @BY Bob wrote, if it's something contagious likely everybody has already been exposed and separation is too late by the time symptoms have made it evident. They sleep together in close quarters, preen together, preen each other even, steal treats and foraged food from each other, eat out of the same feeder, etc. Not a chance of quarantine there.

I would want to continue the comfort they get from the companionship and sense of normalcy and tribe when together. Her lieutenant Hazel is probably her bestie. (She does have to give her a bit of a face-off when Hazel tries to dominate her at the feeder after dominating Butters and Popcorn there). Hazel was sticking very, very close when Peanut was visibly not feeling well. Like right next to her. She has been by her side, trailing her, or close by and keeping an eye on her in all things still.

Such a sweet photo of them together.

I know you have waited for long time for an egg that is not brown or white. I will keep my fingers crossed 🤞 for some color.

I am very confused, how will a early egg mean she will be a white egg layer? I thought odds were very high that she should lay some shade of a blue egg. I have everything crossed you will get that pretty blue egg you have been striving for.

Laying early likely means leghorn. That drive to lay had Daisy, the greatest hen ever, lay right through every winter with no supplemental light needed. Of course leghorn would mean white eggs.
