Yes. Good catch. Bridge has had a slight limp lately. I take her down from the roost most mornings, but gave been late a couple times recently.

I suspect property boundary creep. Is this a private road owned by the homeowners or controlled by your town? The road as it is used is encroaching on your property? How can the neighbor put a fence right to the very edge of where the road is supposed to be? The road crew here would not allow that, the town here technically owns 30 feet each way from the "middle of the road" and they try to be fair to property owners on both sides when they widen or work on it. I garden with some perennial flowering plants right on the edge of the ditch to brighten our mail box area but I know it's not "our" property technically (the road crew tries to work around the gardening).

Some people have been known to even slowly move their stone walls to gain property acreage tax (who wants to pay for a survey?): Hello to Minnie, from the Buckeyes here! And hoping that Little Mil's leg feels better. Early picture of I think Hazel.

It’s not really a road. It’s more of an easement, and honestly, we’re not sure who owns it (us or him.) The easement is supposed to be 15 feet wide. Today hubby measured it and the fence is exactly 15 feet from the pin on our side. We’ll be claiming our side, as well, but not with a monstrosity like that. We’re thinking of a split rail fence and possibly some flowering trees like dogwoods or crape myrtles. I need to find out what won’t get devoured by deer and what does nor drop toxic leaves or flowers. I think at least one lemon tree is in order.

Rusty with Lexi as a puppy. They had a special relationship. They were both super interested in each other, but Rusty regularly pecked Lexi on the nose.

You haven’t heard much about Rusty because she died before I joined BYC or early in in my BYC days. She died from EYP VERY young. She wasn’t very cuddly, big did drag herself into my lap on the bathroom floor when she was gravely ill. She had the sweetest little “let’s go to bed” call EVER. Sweet thing.

In the background, you can see the little prefab coop my husband temporarily claimed for the baby bunnies.

When I come home in the spring I am going through the US, I am so done with that HWY 17.

It’s a nightmare! Twisty windy, steep 7 and 8percent grades, no place to get off in an emergency.

Saw two very bad accidents one where a car tangled with a pickup, and another were a transport crashed into the rock face….

And still the truckers were right on my butt!

Better tomorrow, I get to the prairies, flat and wide open! Hope to make up lots of time!

Watch out for the wind burnished ice....

None, I’m sure. I’m not even sure if one is required. And I’m not the kind of neighbor to turn someone in for building a fence, even if I think it’s ugly. We’ll make the most of what we have and continue to work on our own side. If they start trying to use it as a corporation yard, however, I will absolutely turn them in.
