Yes, I have received shipped chicks a number of times. Occasionally there is 1 or 2 that pass during shipping, and 1 or 2 that are weak and pass (note, that happens anyways. My broodies that raised 9 - 10 hatched but one was weak and died within 24 hours.) Note that I usually get reasonably large batches.

However, once the post office took 3+ days to get my chicks to me (so they were 4 days old on arrival), and out of the lot, there were 6 dead and many very weak. 3 more eventually passed. The rest pulled through okay - after about 2-3 days were normal and fine from then on.
Hmmm maybe I better stick with Frey's they are local about 3 hrs from me....

But I don't think they have legbars ☹️ or those fancy Egyptian Fayoumas - oh so pretty !

Not to make you more sceptical on shipping birds, but I know someone who ordered 8 guineas (or 10) and all but two died. The two are still alive though. The reason they all died is because her post office never called, and when they did it was too late.

Fayoumis are native to Egypt. They don't do well with cold. (Or I would have gotten them already).
Ya.... I will need to build a new insulated barn I guess, and central heating... AC for the summer...

Hahaha just kidding 😊

Hey one can dream 😏

I am going to check out Frey's again to see what they have, you know just to be nosey not buy anything...

That's too bad, and sad. ☹️
