I feel bad for Bernie too :(

Is it possible that you put a ladder to the rafter for her... but you said she can't physically fit on the rafter?
In my opinion, yhe solution is not to add an oversized chicken to the rafters but rather to block off access to the rafters for all.

Sorry to randomly interject on this thread, but I just wanted to say congrats on getting an omnipod!! I’m a student care aide for a little girl with T1D, and the technology really is a lifesaver for her. I had never even heard of it before this year, but it didn’t take me long to get the hang of it at all. I hope it all goes well for you
Hello! By_Bob already said welcome! But again welcome! We love seeing other people's chickens so please feel free to join in and post some of yours! 💖

Ive been thinking on this. How about you thumbtack a sheet or 2 to the rafters or lower to block them off.
Yes I was thinking of some netting to keep them for m flying up there - to keep them from flying up.

This does require a tax payment as it is not chicken related. Funny, but not chicken related.

So sad, but it sounds like wonderful memories. It must have been hard for Aurora also poor girl.
When Mal passed there were just 3. Lilly, Hattie, and Aurora. Hattie has never been mean. Maybe she was a little lonely but none of them had the friends they grew up with. They all had to adapt and cling to each other.

A solid surface is going to be better than a net. A net can be confusing to birds. They may try to fly through it.
