Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock

For all you optimists who thought Eli might opt to sleep on the roost again this evening, I present two fluffy butts in the rafters.
I definitely need an umbrella to walk around under them.
I have covered the glass part of the people door with thick contractor paper so nobody tries to fly through the glass. And I have left the door closed but not latched closed so it should just swing open if hit by a flying chicken.
Now I just have to wait for the morning and hope for the best.

I have to say, they look pretty comfy up there! At some point, they will roost lower......hope they have good 'fast/short' landing skills!

Of course I could try bringing them down each night. It is just a really long reach. Would be a good upper body work out each night!

If you did that consistently for a week or so, they probably would start roosting on the roosts - as long as Bernie doesn't harrass them too much.

They didn't stay on the branch I would take them off of for long.











They went to the next branch up!!!

Home at last, I thank the Lord I’m home at last. All the chooks came rushing out of hiding and here we are united as family again!

OK so make sure you are eating ok and drink plenty of WATER not coffee or tea... caffine is not what you need!

No eggs today that’s okay though. I prefer healthy strong hens and the break should do them some good.
