Oh right Welbar - I am sure I read somewhere that they may not lay until 10 - 12 months old... and being winter right now - I bet Bernie is just in her 'winter slow down' mode.I don't think Eli is the boss. She ended up there when the music stopped because Eli flew over to the other roost (possibly to chase her or to see if she could get to the rafters) and that left Eli stuck on the main roost.
The only really sure thing is that Babs goes up.
Both Eli and Bernie spend time flying back and forth, but Babs doesn't hesitate she just goes straight up.
Bernie is a Welbar (which is just like a Welsummer).
It’s really not my style to have company while I’m convalescingAnxious about the company? I am sure they mean well. Just let them pamper you.
I haven't seen any information on Welbars, but they are essentially Welsummers and everything I read about them is that they lay at around 6 months.Oh right Welbar - I am sure I read somewhere that they may not lay until 10 - 12 months old... and being winter right now - I bet Bernie is just in her 'winter slow down' mode.
Yes those were the ones that I was really interested in with their dark brown eggs. The hatchery is saying limited supply though![]()
Maybe one that is only 6-8 feet tall, so not too intrusive????I wonder how my neighbors would like it?
She might be okay with it if she was allowed to pick the colour scheme of it - so it doesn't clash with FBA or the Cluckle hut....just sayin'Not even discussed yet.
Yes. The best way to keep chickens from scratching, digging, and generally doing chicken-y things in your yard is to..Does anyone know how to stop the chooks from digging up the yard? What a disaster area they made of the grass.
I don’t want to keep them locked up.
