I was probably sheltered from alot of the ugliness being a kid for sure. I do know that the farm my friends family ran did it differently as did those they associated with. I do however recall quite a few snotty folks at the shows though.Actually if I told you horror stories you would bawl - one of the reasons I do not show on the Arab circuit anymore. That and I found Arabian owners/trainers to be horrid people! Rude, and only out to make a buck
So back in the early 2000s when the horse market pretty much collapsed I just kept my last foals and called it quits. I had Truly's half sister Malaka (by Imperial Baarez https://www.arabianessence.tv/horses/imperial-baarez/245/ ), but I ended up selling her. She actually is out here somewhere near Grande Prairie. I often think about looking her up - but then I decide not to - I don't want to see her if she is not treated well. I am not in a position to get another horse![]()
Wonderful blue glints and gold flecks on Eli in that first picture! I can't tell what color the egg is - blue-ish in the outside pics, pale brownish with white speckles in the last.Well, well. The Chicken Palace is a happening place!
Eli has been in and out of the nest boxes all week but mainly as Babs’s bodyguard. I guess she decided to try it out for herself. She created a deep bowl in the bedding and laid this little number. It has white spots and is 46.6g = 1.6oz.
Congratulations Eli!
She seems quite surprised by what she produced.
Babs also laid today.
Bernie can’t see what all the fuss is about and thinks it is all a waste of time.
I have forgotten how I collect eggs and where I store them - I think I have a basket somewhere!

I cannot stand their water… I mean beer, unless it is the lime version, but I am such a sucker for those horses. My Grandfather and Father are both named Clyde, so maybe that has something to do with it. I don’t know, I just like gentle giants when it comes to ponies I guess! Here is one I really like:
What a beautiful horse!I was probably sheltered from alot of the ugliness being a kid for sure. I do know that the farm my friends family ran did it differently as did those they associated with. I do however recall quite a few snotty folks at the shows though.
