Perhaps she has some co-conspirators? Been tucking other’s eggs up under her wing and spiriting them off while you’re not looking? 😂 at this rate you’re not going to be pulling those incubators out of the closet anytime soon!
Who needs a incubator when you have sneaky and willing hens. I will have to either break her up or swap eggs if that is what she is really up to. If she would just wait another month I would consider letting her hatch a few of her own. Her eggs are starting to come up to size, just a tad smaller then I would like being pullet eggs. Being half silkie she is never going to lay huge eggs though.

The tail wag so cute ❤️

I love the way they wag their tails!

Lol… very different from a chicken tail wag isn’t it? As soon as I pick up a shovel or that garden fork I find I have all the girls hot on my heels, chasing me around the yard, and making that little huffing/hissing noise. So, now worm digging has been added to the evening chicken chores. It hardly rained yesterday so they didn’t get quite the haul they were looking for. But they certainly enjoy it.

I walked the goats to the beach in the afternoon and we got caught in a sudden rainstorm that lasted about half an hour and I was drenched, so I switched to sweats then proceeded to dump duck water all into the boots and over the clean sweatpants. Decided yesterday was a good day to shower and do laundry… apparently it came down as sleet and hail in other parts of the island so I wasn’t just imagining it was so cold. The windstorm NorthWesterly never really hit us, so that was nice. It’s the SouthEasterly ones that hit us the hardest here because of the geography.

Hello FBA!
I've been trying not to, but I just have to give up, or more like @BY Bob , "sort of" give up. I can't manage to follow the thread daily right now. I know most of you really don't mind people dropping in and out, but I still feel guilty because I've been given very good advice on this thread and also so much support, I apologize and hope no one feels let down. It's not that I'm overbusy but I need to reduce my time on the internet and spend more time on house and garden chores and reading books. I will at least post fluffy butts Fridays, and try to keep up with the most important stuff. I'll be more active when I can manage to handle my time better. In the meanwhile, I hope the best for all the chooks and that all the chicks will now stay safe, and also keep those of you with health issues in my thoughts.

I haven't posted tofers for ages so I do have a few from since the beginning of February.

I love the theme of light and dark in all of these photos! Your 'girls (and of course, the Roos, too!) are all so gorgeous!🥰🥰

I, personally, won't be offended at all, but will certainly look forward to what pictures you can/do post! :)

It was time for their midday bread snack. Actually I was late and Bubba let me know it by crowing at the back door. I took out the camera and got some pictures and video's of everyone. Here are the video's
Branch spotted the hawks that are nesting on the other side of my house. If they start flying towards the yard he has a different growl that sends the whole flock running for cover. As far as aerial predators go, he seems to be the one who spots them first.
Come back Chiquita, you missed a worm. One of the chicks ran back to eat it when I stopped filming.
Both momma's know the best place to rest is under the watchful eye's of uncle Dirt.
Oh my gosh, Momma Hen/Ol'Bat's chicks are getting so big!!

Uncle Dirt definitely looks like he is keeping an eye out for them.
