Hi folks. Popping in. Sad to say Lucky is in her final days, if not hours. I could probably tube feed to keep her going a bit longer, but that would be cruel and prolong suffering.

It seems the other chickens know. Here she is with Little Mill sitting vigil before I left today.

Keep up the good work girls, 5 dozen ready to leave tonight. 2 dozen left yesterday evening. All are under a week old. As long as they keep selling like hotcakes I cannot be tempted to load up the incubator. I do find it odd though, the ones that look almost white, those are Butters eggs. She started back laying this week and until I caught her in the act I did not believe they were hers. She always in the past laid a light tan with occasional speckles. I wonder if it has to do with the fact that she will be 3 this spring with the sudden color change. Shell is just had hard as before so it is not due to lack of calcium.

When they are old enough to use beakbook the Marshmallows may be interested in enrolling. They may not need it as Chiquita is doing her best to teach them to the best of her ability. They also watch the other chickens including Momma hen who had her crew on the hill yesterday branch hopping and climbing trees. I told them if by 3 months they are not tree hopping themselves, I will give them permission to enroll.

You are making me hungry. 😆
Ha! The kids named them all after cookies or cookie ingredients.
I close it up manually. This morning they were all gathered around it yelling at me to come let Betty out.
Mine yell at me every single morning because you know the 16x8 coop is sooo squished. 😂
