What is up with my rooster? He wants to snuggle up with me. But he’s shaking his head like something is bothering him. I’m going to let him take a nap on my shoulder.

Ya know mine have been doing that since it warmed I think its because pollen count is higher and dust it may bother their nostrils

Hi folks. Popping in. Sad to say Lucky is in her final days, if not hours. I could probably tube feed to keep her going a bit longer, but that would be cruel and prolong suffering.

It seems the other chickens know. Here she is with Little Mill sitting vigil before I left today.

I'm so sorry, Michelle.

I'm glad that Little Mil was keeping her company - she deserved having a friend nearby!

I am always amazed at how ?intuitive? animals are. They often know before we do that they are passing/their friend/flock-mate is passing.

More hugs for you, and wishes for Lucky that it is a relatively easy passing.

All my hens are lap chickens but my top hen cuddles the most as she tells the others to get lost when she’s cuddling!!!!!
