I havent posted much. Been really tired and had a mammogram today then talked to my sister and took a nap. Havent felt good in days. Been weak.
I love the new barred rock. I love all the FB photos! I posted some this morning.

First thing I saw with that picture was a soccer team.

Glad you are looking at healthier eating.
Try fish - surprisingly easy to cook and you can make yummy sauces to go with.
Tomorrow I will have salmon with a sauce made bith honey, ginger, and soy sauce.

More soccer chicks

I do my salmon in the oven, drizzle maple syrup over it and cover with foil wrap and let it steam in its own juices!

Bernie is a Welbar - which is like a Welsummer.

Oh right ! YES that was the breed I wanted to get but they were sold out darn! Though if there are any 'extra' Welbar pullet chicks when I pick mine up I will try to get 2. You know what they say - cheaper by the dozen .... hahaha!

She is a Welbar. A Welsummer crossed with a BR for auto sexing, hence the name 'wel-bar' (I think there is a bit of something else in there, too, but those are the 2 primary breeds.)

Far less barring than a Barnveilder, and though Bernie is very tall, I am pretty sure she isn't/her breed isn't as large as the Barnveilders

That was the one breed I wanted - but they were sold out boohoo! So I went with the Bielefelder (also auto-sexing); hoping they have a few extra Welbar when I pick up the babies

Hey CB! The broody owl post came from somewhere else and fantastic owls seems to be a collection of owl posts. It credits the lady whose post it is but when I went to her page, I couldn’t see it (she has a lot of posts though). I follow another page about a girl owl called Michael and the lady says she’s a conservationist and is licenced to work with birds of prey. She said in one post “to all those people who say they wish they had an owl as a pet, no you don’t.”

Oh, that last one looks like it has faint speckles, too! Welsummers usually lay speckled eggs - so she may at times lay some lightly speckled ones? Might have gotten a slightly dodgy paint booth from mom's side of the family.

Oh, that last one looks like it has faint speckles, too! Welsummers usually lay speckled eggs - so she may at times lay some lightly speckled ones? Might have gotten a slightly dodgy paint booth from mom's side of the family.

The only one that isn't speckled is the 3rd one. The first one is speckled in white. The rest have darker speckles - some tiny, and some bigger.
I think they are all pretty and am just interested to see her experiment.
