You feeling any better?
Unfortunately its a daily thing. But I have a drs appt tuesday and need to go to the cardiologist to get my heart and blood pressure stabilized. I just deal with it. This forum and chicks on FB help. I hang out with my chooks and it relaxes me and makes me feel better.

Yes, I get that it's the same here

Animals are healing 💖

I love coming in FB

Leg is doing ok for the most part. I can get by most of the time without taking the pain medication.

I did get a little bit of chicken time on Wednesday. And we put out a few of the toys I got for them. Yesterday we hung a cabbage. It is gone now. 😅

Hahaha looks like that first one is pulling a 'Marty" with a white feather up her butt :) That's a pretty radical Frizzle!

Maybe we can get a couple of her eggs? 😆 crossed with Branch or Twig for you and maybe that gorgeous Marans Boy (Bubba?) for me 😉
Yes - my luck they would all be roos! Just what I don't need. At the moment Mr P is crowing up a storm, someone is trying to do the egg song but I can't see who it is.

Well, you were right about the road firming up… lol we are frozen up, I’m whining, it’s below freezing. We have had two solid windstorms. My cousin has my BYC log in info saved, so if we ever do get taken out by a tree, she will log in and let y’all know. That sort of level of windstorms. A tree came down in the Draw and it rocked the trailer. I ran outside, the goats were spooked in their pen. It’s been crazy here weather wise.

Poor Scarface had a touch of frostbite on his wattles but didn’t lose them after our last cold snap, from dipping them into water when drinking. The sections that were discoloured last time didn’t fall off, but they started to bleed like crazy after the first day of “feels like -9” windchill in this round. We do have a snowfall warning, but the air doesn’t feel or smell like snow, just cold. So it’s been the usual “why is it so cold?” And trying to keep water wet around here. I didn’t walk the goats properly because of the winds, but we did have a fir take out an arbutus in the park, so it’s a great snack spot… and I trimmed and dragged some branches home for them for the day the winds were so bad they stayed in their pen all day. 🤫 I’m glad I haven’t done the spring clean outs so everyone has nice deep bedding. What I don’t get is why the water chickens are getting into the water and freezing their feathers off! Hygiene is not that important when it’s this cold out!

Frozen egg count for weather tax?View attachment 3415187
I hope that the weather doesn't get too bad, actually hope that it warms up for you. Those eggs would be great scrambled ❤️
I don’t have fluffy butt Friday pics, but how about flurry Friday pics?

I woke up to this:

You can see snow on top of the pitched tarp over the chicken run at the very left edge of the photo. This is California, people. Snow isn’t usually an issue here where I live. Only in the tall mountains. I’m only at 1000 feet here.

When I first offered for the chickens to come out and see it, it was like a huge no thank you. 🤣❄️🐓

But later in the day… like 10 hours later, this happened…

I carried Little Mill over to her friends.

This is the first and probably last time they will ever see snow. ❤️❄️❤️❄️

We also did not have power for the majority of the day, but it’s back on now and I’m heating the house up.
Isn't neat their footprints in the snow - like little velociraptors :)

My kiddos are not fond of snow either or wind for that matter. They are fair weather birds hahahaha! What crazy wild weather you have there - I have been watching it on the News - just nuts! Here in Ontario and Quebec it's been so mild that the Rideau Canal wont have skating on it - first time ever. The climate is changing.
