It is amazing the lengths some chickens will go to in order to stop me from taking photos of their fluffy butts full on.
Finally two of them relented and gave me an opportunity.
And one from earlier in the week before the snow melted and before Eli’s nasty poop incident.
Happy Friday everyone.

Music here - our Env Inspector got motivated to sing and dance 'What's going on' by Three non Blondes ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

We can have fun up here at the 57th parallel.

It all started when he walked by asking 'what's going on'
And of course I answered back 'isn't that song by Three non Blondes'...
The Welding Insp answered back 'it sure is!'
The Env Ins then said 'that is one of my favourite songs ever'.
Sooooo - the welding inspector played that song - to which our Env Insp started dancing - he video'ed himself of course :)

And just because it is an awesome song Weld Insp. played it again 💕:hugs

I also really like that song.... '25 years and my life is still Tryin' to get up that great big hill of hope'.

Being happy Tax

What are you doing to me @featherhead007
Ya... I do that all the time hahaha
Hello Fluffy butts lovers! I hope you are all staying sane in spite of your chooks shenanigans! Remember when they drive you crazy, it's the way of the chicken!
Unrelated to chickens, but we've had a strange week. Our cat had a wound on it's tail that got infected and we've had to keep him locked inside with a collar. This means we haven't slept much the last nights 🤣 but tonight he finally gets out... on parole !
Also, the old abandoned mare I talked about a few months ago has finally joined Chaco and Sally in the evergreen pasture. I'm feeling both sad and relieved that she is not in pain anymore.

As for the synopsis idea, I love it as a reader, and as I told ponypoor I would be willing to contribute if it would be useful every now and then, like every six weeks.

Here are some photos from the past days :
Will she, will she not ? Merle mug, a permanent semi broody!

Tuefer : Théo and Blanche, my small crazy Ex-batt that was attacked by a hawk at Christmas. She is still molting and still not healed, but still fighting. And she has become Théo's favorite, which means getting mated far too often.

They say you were 36 and had lived free and feral for at least the last twelve years. I wish you had had a better ending.

Love that Theo and Blanche seem to be an item. Love those fluffy butts - very fluffy!
Poor kitty! The indignity of it all; what a splendid view out those windows!
Yes poor old girl, it's too bad she didn't have a better ending - but she is gone and no longer suffering.

My Fluffy contributions.

Wow! Great action shot! Love it!

Merle :love :love

Sad to lose the mare but it sounds like she had many good years of freedom.
When I saw Merle I thought of you immediately! She has such iridescent colouring :)

My little rooster chick was screaming this morning, it's so cute. I will be candling eggs today to see whats viable and whats bad.
I look forward to seeing how they are getting on!

I love that first photo - it shows the different colouring in all your ladies - it's it amazing the variety of colours with chickens? it always amazes me!

So.. I have decided against brahmas for now for various reasons but I am still getting some new babies this spring/summer.

My kids and I will be trying our hand at hatching some English Orpington eggs!!! The varieties we picked are Jubilee definitely LF inspired choice (she is so beautiful 😍) and silver laced. The eggs are on preorder (from a reputable breeder this time not FB) so I don’t expect them until April or even into May.

I am also amazed by the variety and beauty of their feathers. I really want to get a three fluffy butts in a row picture but they won’t cooperate!
