Lay-about
Hattie has taken to resting while eating these days. Right in the middle of the yard!

She is actually a lot more active since it warmed up. I believe I will start treating her for arthritis this fall. Much like I did with Lilly.

For example, In February I could not get her to come to the deck despite the treats. This was today.

They look to be getting along a bit better, love how they can go right up to your door 😊

Hmmm, too bad he is so young...Hattie needs a mate now...by the end of spring 'flush' when he is old enough, she may not lay any more this year/season. :( I have to say, if you were closer, I would consider buying him off of you. Your two boys look wonderful, and from what you have said, seem to be upstanding Roos, too!
Yes but he would be perfect for RC! Young enough that Bernie can clobber him if he gets out of hand. But old enough that he can be integrated immediately ❤️

Sugar pics she was feeling like showing off apparently and I got some cute photos of her.

Preening but I swear in this pic she looks like she about to start a tussle.

What a lovely girl, so white and clean! Can she tell Truly how to stay so clean??

Yes she's got electrolyte water :)
But does it have sugar in the electrolytes (which are salts), how is she this morning?
oh, my, @RoyalChick , I swear I just saw a picture of you!

:gig :gig :gig
hahahaha good one!!

I want a silkie roo but I think mine are all hens theres no one acting like a rooster.
And you won’t see any cues on gender till one crows, or lays an egg. This is why silkies are very hard to tell gender without a gender DNA test.

This is what I will be doing next weekend when I choose a couple of silkies from my friends hatchings. I will do a DNA test for gender, I will keep the Roo and she can have the other one back.

This way the wee lad will be raised by Mr P as his second hand.

Why not to your flock?
Well because I have Mr P and a ‘planned’ silkie Roo on the way 🥰 - but you have no Roos ! And this boy is gorgeous - just think of the bandies you will get from him and Bernie! (Sigh) beautiful I bet💕💕

EDIT: babies (not bandies)

You know if he had to go somewhere Twig would also be a good addition. He's gaining more confidence around Bubba and Branch. He is also very alert to what is going on in the air. Hawks are everywhere doing their springtime thing. He always has his eye's on them. If he can handle Holly and her "no one sleeps by me" nonsense and win, he could handle Bernie. He is also almost out of his idiot phase. Not once has he offered to step out of line as far as a person has went. Oh, and did I ever mention he is a Corona son. Now, I did say if he had to go somewhere.
