Did you live at this place last year? if so, were there ANY fruits? even small, small ones? How many petals per flower? 4 or 5? both common...but...
Possibilities:
flowering redbud
flowering cherry,
crabapple,
flowering plum

Note, some of the above, though 'fruit trees', have been bred to be ornamental and have either tiny, tiny fruits, or none.

I am quite sure there are other possibilities, too.
I don’t think it is a red bud.
Could be crabapple or flowering cherry - but bark isn’t quite right.
I will try to download the picture and use it on Plant Net.
Phone not currently collaborating with that idea.

Just got word my hatching eggs will ship in the morning! Send happy undamaged egg thoughts my way.
12 Jubilee English Orpingtons
6 Silver Laced English Orpingtons

So eggcited must be good luck to get this update on Easter right? 😂
Yay for orps, even more Yay for the big fluffy english orps. I love my 4 orp girls but the english ladies will put my big girls to shame. They will take longer to mature than the american or hatchery orps but in the end it will be worth it. Sending lots of thoughts for undamaged eggs heading your way and good luck incubating them. I think for shipped eggs you are supposed to leave them on the counter for 2 days before putting them in the incubator.

I've put off making this post hoping I was wrong but I fear I am not. Something has happened to Meeko. She just vanished Wednesday after she laid her egg. I've searched and found no sign of her, no feathers nothing. She did like to spend a good part of her day on the hill and I have not been able to climb it to look for her. I have a slimmer of hope that she is off broody somewhere, but I really doubt it. She had shown no inkling of going broody and was laying her egg outside of Louis stall. What is even more weird is that the rest of the flock never made a peep. Everyone acting totally normal so if something got her they surely did not see it.

Yes, they will be in my egg stand for two to three days then they will go into the incubator in cups to stay pointy side down for another three days with no turning. Then I will candle them, any saddled/wonky looking air cells, or detached air cells and they will then be hand turned and remain in cups till the cups until they are attached fully. Only then will they be laid down in the turner.
Its a crazy process but I think it will give them the best chance at making it.
Shipped eggs are very tricky and I am preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. The best would likely be a 50% hatch rate.
Thank you for the good thoughts! Yes, they should pretty large and fluffy ❤️

Oh no! I am sorry to hear this :( I will hope she shows back up finger and toes crossed 🤞

I can't believe I have to pay SHRA tax for this one...

Any excuse for more chicken pics. And I appreciated your comment simply because rewording something can clarify thoughts, especially crafting ideas for me. The puzzle box for chicken saddle ideas is getting clearer, a HUGE step towards making them.

I hope you document the incubation of the shipped eggs. I have never had shipped eggs before. If I want my silkies, I will be dealing with shipped eggs soon. Truth be told I'm terrified to order them. My mail carriers are not the best and I have nightmares of opening a box of broken eggs.

I would be happy to document the process and what I learn along the way. I have never incubated egg’s before so I have been doing a ton of reading as I waited (im)patiently for the breeder to send the eggs. Should be interesting!

Oh my gosh - so sorry to hear this, I am thinking good thoughts for you and Meeko.

Just in case though I am also sending hugs your way (hugs hugs hugs).

Can you incubate her egg by an chance?

It looks like I am really seriously going to have to make a road trip and bring some Silkie eggs for you. Silkies are a dime a dozen around here, and all within a 3 hr drive or less.

Are you close to an airport? When I was breeding horses I would get those 'coolers' shipped to the cargo counter at the airport; the stallion owner would drop it at the cargo counter on their end (lets say Dallas - Lulu's sire), and then a few hrs later I would drive down to Toronto and pick up the cooler at the cargo counter there.

I bet they would treat hatching eggs really well.
