Yes, I tend to be literal. Once I was with a family friend. I know the meanings of what people say most of the times. Well, this friend, who is way older than me (I had to fix his computer) took me to a burger shop. The guy running the place said, "is he your adopted son?" I said no. They then explained (something I already knew) that that was used for someone a person really likes or something along the lines of that.

You would make a good proof reader. Do proof readers still exist in the world of autocorrect? I had to learn all the proofing symbols as a kid to help proof what my Dad wrote. One proofing trick is to read the line from right to left - it confuses the brain so it can’t do its own version of autocorrect.
