Does anyone know why Agathae has a bit of blue on the comb?
Sorry just saw I was tagged in this. I see she is young. How hot is it where you are now? I see this sometimes in the summer when it is hot and humid. In the mornings when it is cooler their combs will be bright red, by afternoon they start to get this darker color. A couple hours after dark when it has cooled off their combs are back to normal.

Go ahead. Take lots of photos, share them, and send us the link. Bring back some dumplings. I'll follow your thread for your trip to China.

Yes please add me ! I have to live vicariously through you ❤️
Tag me please, I would love to follow along.

Add us too please😁
Will do.

Your chicks are ridiculously photogenic - mine have all been having bad hair days for over a week now!
No, I'm sorry. Your chicks are not having bad hair days. Now my poor silkie, he/she is having a bad hair day, and will continue to rock the bad hair days for at least another month, maybe longer.

Such is the life of poor little silkies. They hatch out adorable and then get so ugly they need a paper bag over their heads for a month or two. It is all worth it in the end though. Those little ugly ducklings turn into beautiful swans so to speak.

OK I am going to go out and take a series of bad hair day pictures to prove my point - your baby silkie looks well put together in comparison!
Here is one to start the ball rolling. I purposely avoided pictures that included her near naked area behind her neck!

For me that can be a warning side of stress. That fits with @RebeccaBoyd observation of heat causing this.

More observations would be helpful. Does it happen at a certain time of the day? Is it related to a certain temperature? Does it happen after strenuous activity? All of these are clues as to why this might be happening.

Take some time and watch closely and report back what you see.

No socks, no shoes. I cannot stand either in the house. Going places I use sandals. I do not use socks whenever I can. And that includes inside. I do not use socks inside. I prefer to feel my environment a lot.
I have "empanada feet" meaning that they are big and wide. Finding dress shoes is a pain and wearing them is a bigger pain. Sandals (even at church) do way better and fit me just fine.
I get poop from the chooks on my feet daily. I just scrape my feet on the concrete and it falls off most of the time.
Ah so you are a hobbit?
I am a sasquatch, sometimes even size 10 women's don't even fit me.
