Before I give Mazzie a inferiority complex, I need her to know she IS not ugly.

Oh my gosh you have more babies?! So cute, what are they? How many?Same here.
When I was 4, I was sitting on my cousin's lap. He said, "Sally, you have big feet." I thought it was a tease, not a serious comment. Sigh.
Tax:
I meant to post this yesterday.

I would just make sure he is getting enough nutrition and fluids. Make sure he is getting his Vit B and E + selenium.Silkie video clydes issue
Please send some of your heat here it’s freezing! Not much like mid May.View attachment 3508508
This is how hot it is over here. Pretty hot if I had to say.
I did not know chickens did that with their combs.
Oh goodness. That is badly flooded!
I have seen people use pallets in these situations. Just dump them on top of the shavings and the mud for a temporary dry walkway for you and the chickens.
Leave cleanup until stuff has dried out a bit.
Sometimes you can just get pallets for free at the back of grocery stores.
I found a plastic pad and one large pallet laying around. That along with a little rearranging is working for now.Do you have any pallets? You could, for now until the water recedes, put some pallets on the floor of the coop to give them dry places to walk/hang out. It worked really well for my neighbor until they built their new permanent run (in a bit higher place that drains better).
It would be a good temporary fix...and maybe by the time it dries out a bit, you could then use the tractor bucket???
Spray permethrin on your clothes but not your skin. It's very effective against ticks. You can find spray cans of permethrin in the camping section at Walmart or most sporting stores. I used it when bow hunting in hot weather and it worked well for me.
We have ticks here like crazy, the big regular ones and the tiniest tiny deer ticks too. Permethrin is the only thing I have found to be effective. It works better then OFF and it doesn’t smell nearly as horrid.

Better than deet and without the smell.
I used to spray my hunting clothes with it and let them dry. It is effective until you wash the clothes. Almost odorless once dry.
THANK YOU - in my cart along with a mosquito net veil that I can put on over a hat and will cover my face and my shoulders.
The spray that Greg linked is the best option. I also use this due to CHIGGERS. They are horrible on our property. A few important tips about the spray. You have to spray your entire outfit, shirt/pants/socks. The protection is based on a certain number of molecules. And it actually last six weeks/six washings. I keep that stack of clothing separate. Also, once it is dry the treated fabric is safe to wear around cats.Thank you! Everyone is being so kind pitching in to share advice.
I think I got it - two bottles on their way to me - I figure I keep one out in the garage and one in the bathroom to spray clothing before I dress.
I need to keep it away from the cats as it is toxic to cats because they cannot metabolize it.
Sorry to hear of you hip I can empathize with you completely. These leaves are a big hit

I don't know what this vegetable is, it has big green leaves and a lot of white flies are attracted to it. I've given all the leaves to the girls and they are loving it.
My hip/pelvic area is in immense pain since yesterday. I picked up a heavy bag and I'm not mobile at all. So these leaves came at the right time to entertain my girls
I am giving vitamins and pain meds at the moment. Thats all I can think to do. Only time will tell. He just may be my special guy for the rest of his life if he dont get better. He does eat and drink fine. I am giving him extra vitamins and selenium by dropper so he gets it.Oh dear. Poor Clyde.
I do think it is worth posting on the diseases thread in case someone has experience.
I would definitely give vitamins - wry neck can be caused by vitamin deficiency particularly B1 if they have been given medicated feed for too long. It isn't that common but it is a recognized issue and it is easy to give vitamin supplements so worth doing.
Other issues can be head injury and blindness (including from feathers covering the eyes). From your video he doesn't look like he has any other imbalance issues - do you agree that he is able to walk, fly and peck accurately?
What about his eyes - are they covered over? Do you think he can see?
You are calling it a snow day today? Everyone stays inside?Sorry to hear of you hip I can empathize with you completely.
Not sure what the leaves are, but I will read ahead to see what others say.
Since everyone is stuck inside today, I might go pick some dandelions and bunch them like that for everyone.
@ everyone - do you know if she can give half a low dose aspirin to this wee a bird?He dodges away they are a couplle months old he didnt start that wway so nerves or head injury. He doesnt like to be touched but he didnt mind in the beginning so maybe it does hurt. What should I do for him. Besides pain meds
No liquid tylenal. I do have pain meds for my chihuahua from the vets@ everyone - do you know if she can give half a low dose aspirin to this wee a bird?
Valarie you have kids right? Do you have liquid kids Tylenol ? We figured out the dose somewhere here, if you can weigh him (kitchen cooking scale would be perfect) then we can get a dose for you. Aspirin would be her as it has anti inflammatory properties. But Tylenol is a good pain med.
