Mazzie came in for a photoshoot. She/he is 5 weeks old today. I am so torn with this chick. Pattern wise Mazzie is Ezzie all over again. Color wise, Ezzie had brighter red and orange coloring while Mazzie's is softer and duller. I'm hoping with everything in me that means pullet.
Anyone want to take guesses? If you think boy you can tell me, at this point I expect my favorites to be boys.

Im sorry they are at that fugly stage and Im laughing.

It is ok laugh away. Sylvie may have won the fugly title for 2 days max. Mazzie will hang onto it for a few weeks now. Such is the life of a silkie chick.

Keep up with the B vitamins, even when it seems like she's fine for a while. It seems to be working.

Im still putting rooster booster vitamins and selenium the sillkies water because of clyde being sick, hes fine now.

Cackle's photo gallery is nice due to the sheer volume of pics of each breed, in a variety of environments. As long as it's a breed they carry, it's worth checking out when trying to ID a chick, wether it came from them or not.

She is soooooo cute, Yes its a girl. I can tell from the head dress.

Ummmm, that orange starting around Mazzie's neck is sending up a possible red flag with me (I even went back and checked the pics again). Its too early to really determine, but it has me wondering. (I don't know silkies for beans, other than they're cute as a button, so take this with a large grain of salt).
