Well you have those chicks just begging for a home.

Start doling out treats to them and they will come running soon enough. Risk though if there are Roos. You do not want Roos with poor old Jaffar 😟
Actually, if one grows up under Jaffar, it might be okay - Jaffar has a awful lot of ladies for one man - especially since he is getting older.

If there are a couple of roos (most likely more than a 'couple' with 11 chicks!), he can pick the 'best' one, and rehome the rest....and get more ladies to boot! Win-win for everyone!;)

I have read that article several times and it is excellent! I would have waited Oreo out if it hadn’t been for him going after my 4 yr old son :( His behavior began when Chip was killed while he was trapped unable to help her in the run. Whatever happened that day changed him, I will forever be sorry that it happened.
This time I chose a breed that is known for having mellow Roosters generally and although I do not have an older Roo, I do have older girls to teach him. I am hopeful but realistic.

I would like to breed this line if I can but if it doesn’t work again I will 100% do this. Is Kijiji like Facebook marketplace or Craigslist here?

My daughter is in Cloverbuds 4H now so I am betting I could now find a good Roo if my attempt fails.

I'm sorry, I know you have mentioned the breed when you got the fertile eggs, but I have completely forgotten. What are they? They look like they will be a very rich Mahogany colour! 🥰 🥰

Here is the synopsis of the chicken news at Fluffy Butt Acres for the past week - May 27th to June 3rd.

This is the week that took FBA past 150,000 posts - keep the chatter chicken focused everyone!

Hattie's corner
Because she is such a pretty hen @BY Bob's Hattie got her portrait taken by our local chicken artist @LhickenChicken: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26887826

And in disquieting news, @LhickenChicken has introduced another Aurora to our FBA lives. She is very cute, but I hate to think what will happen in a world with the power of Auora X2! Be afraid, be very afraid: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26887842

Shared some big news about crowing at FBA: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26885117

@knoturavggrl
With no regard for her personal safety @knoturavggrl brought us front line reporting from the war against the rats. We are not sure who will win, but we are grateful to have such a committed war correspondent: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26886054

As well as dealing with the rats, @knoturavggrl has been taking a crash course in chick raising from Brownie who is still not quite a year old but nonetheless has distinct views on child rearing and is imposing her will on her anxious chicken tender. So far, Brownie seems to know exactly what to do! https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26888906

@Ponypoor
In one of the funniest videos, Pony provided her chicks with a ready-made ladder and then complained that they climbed it! :lau
I dunno :idunnojudge for yourselves: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26882586

Pony also treated us to some wonderful songs with new chicken-lyrics (is that chyrics?):

In a classic case of enabler direct action we have managed to convince Pony to keep little Rico. Here is proof in writing, so no changing your mind now Pony!! https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26882260

I am sure we are all hoping for a speedy recovery for BBQ.

@ValarieF
Has been renaming some of her littles after major weather events. Read about it here, but the thing to know is that Clyde (now Tornado) is over his strange wry-neck-like symptoms and doing well: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26878769

@Marie2020
Came on to share the big news that Princess laid an egg (and a very fine looking egg too!): https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26880852
And in another post that set me off giggling, Marie got a call from her neighbors: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26892995

@Lexicon

@featherhead007
Alex has a problem with roaming chickens. His Hen-Rietta has taken to roaming to visit other roosters in the neighborhood and Alex is quite worried for her reputation.
He also has incoming chickens from next door - originally mother and babies, but now just babies as the neighbor has locked the mother in a cage :he

@fuentemoon
Also has wandering chickens but it seems much nicer neighbors.
I love this story: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26898801

@notabitail treated us to a fabulous picture of Abigail for Monday - you can learn a lot of chicken anatomy from that one mugshot: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26884913

@ManueB
Gave us an update of her lovely flock - I always find pictures of her scenery and chickens very dreamy - but the addition of babies into that stunning environment is just too much lovely for one place. Sit down, relax, and enjoy: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26893050

@RoyalChick
Shared an update on Eli who seems to have got over her neurological and balance issues, is no longer broody, and has adopted the Pentagonists as her very own (rather overgrown) chicks. RC is absurdly intrigued by the whole event and has been taking way too many photos: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-26888027

Hope I didn't miss too much or mess up the links - it has been a bit of a hectic week and I am more than a little sleep deprived.
Excellent correspondence yourself, RC, from the front lines of FBA! Thank you (from the rear).

This is true. And of a Roo he kept was causing issues he can rehome.

Yes this might work well.
