Mugs Monday

Good morning all! I hope everyone’s chicks and chooks are doing ok.

Here are a few kiddos going about the day.

I am going to give Martina a hair cut soon, don’t want her to have her vision impacted by her coiffe.
Oh those head poofs coming in are adorable 🥰 I am 100% sure they will all be stunning but the grown in stage reminds me of when I grew out my pixie haircut 💇‍♀️ 😂

The chicks are adorable 🥰 I really love their fuzz pattern.
Whisky appears to be doing the Fabio hair shake 😂
Here we are at a week old +/- a day and I'm getting impatient to see the first round of feathers. I did see shoulder pins starting on (I think) the feather footed one last night.

The "Fabio" shake is something I've seen on every single one of my boys and I never get tired of it. Hens can do it too, but it NEVER looks the same. (Sort of like a medium pixie cut trying to shake the hair like Fabio :gig )

Should be back at the in-laws this weekend. I'll have the opportunity to see how the others are growing and the ones that have hatched under the broodies. The co-broody pair is a very interesting mix. One is a jersey giant. The other is none other than one of the Cheetah x Thing girls. one of these

With the size difference (she's the same size as Lark and Indigo: smaller than Cheetah) should be fun to watch the mamas.

I completely understand the impatient feeling. My new crew seems to me to be feathering out so slowly. (The are not, it’s entirely me wanting to see what they will look like)
The Fabio shake is impressive with the longer Roo feathers and they entirely seem to know it and always seem to make a bit of show of it in my opinion 😂

Is the top pic Lore, or is it a 2nd roo starting to pop wattles, or are my eyes playing tricks on me?
No. Your correct thats a different chick. I have my eye on 3 total to be boys including Lore. Two, I am fairly sure are pullets so far.

I refuse to say boy till I see pink though 😂 so far Lore is the only one with the clear undeniable pink. Ill continue to delude myself until I can not anymore.

English Orpington’s can be a tad tricky to sex from what I read. Not silky hard or anything but they are just quite slow to mature. At this point they could conceivably still all end up be being boys.
