I'm sorry to hear about Sheba. No, it doesn't sound good. I will let the more experienced on here answer, since egg bound would have been my first guess. :hugs :hugs :hugs

Good for Eenie! :wee Eenie really does want to be a momma :)

And your puppy looks like s/he is having a great time! I'm also glad to see s/he is a responsible boater and wears his/her life vest like a good citizen should.:love
LOL Ellie is part dachshund, (specifically, german shepherd and doxie-poo) and short legged dogs don't generally swim well, so life vest it is, even though she hates it. She'd hate drowning more. She likes the boat...but isn't fond of even wading!

Raven and the chicklets. The Jailbirds are really starting to show their stripes. The 2 sussex, still look like chipmunks.

These 2 are from my own eggs.

My white one is not white anymore. In the past, if my yellow chicks change color it has not been a good sign. All have ended up to be boys.

Owly with a jailbird butt.

Lilly is not the only hen hiding eggs in the food bin. The speckled egg is Lilly's. I suspect the solid one is Ducky's.

I love how she has them all lined up on the piece of lumber!
Such pretty dark eggs.
:love :love

I'm sorry to say that the little chick didn't make it. She was out of the shell, but she died. I don't know how to use a spoiler, so just don't look if your sensitive.
I'm really bummed out. I didn't see any more pips or hear any chirps. I may take the eggs in to candle them, and probably incubate them until/if they hatch.
I buried the little cheeper behind a fence close to my coop.
RIP baby. Sorry that you couldn't live in my flock.

And hide and seek

Hector is working hard at courting the older ladies. The babies are paying attention too. He even stepped on and held down some of the longer grasses so the babies could reach the seeds. He also stripped some seeds off and handed them to the babies.

View attachment 3556119Whiskey got in on the teaching the babies, too.

Cheetah hasn't interacted with them as much, but he's more often the 1st to sound an alarm. The alarm gets picked up by Whiskey and/or Hector, closer to the coop/where ever the babies are at.
What a good boy Hector is!!! Now that is a REAL gentleman! The Ladies should take notice of all that attention to the littles - it means he is a 'good man' and will do the same for them. Definitely a keeper Roo (but, then, you already knew that:p)

Agathae says to ignore the junk.
Hi, Welcome back! I was missing you (though, the thread did move at a slower, more reasonable pace:lau.)

Agathae - well of course we would ignore the junk - once we set our eyes on you, we are mesmerized and can't see anything else.😍 You have an adorably floppy comb and lovely wattles, right @Ponypoor?

We are in the middle of an end of days kind of thunderstorm - at times it is dark as night and the humidity is 81%. We have very heavy rain and flood warnings. The thunder is rattling the windows.
The cats are all hiding under beds and I can’t really get out to the Chicken Palace unless in dire emergency. I thought they might be frightened and checked the cameras.
They seem to be hanging out together and not really frightened at all.

So sorry. That is sad.

Owly say hi to Piglet and Dot. She has me trained well already, happy monday everyone.

I hate to say this, but either she is really curious about the camera...or...I won't say it because I might get smacked because you are in love with an adorable little chick.
