I can't find the page, but I cut and pasted the first aid list. I can post it if you like.

Very. I've read it's as hard as heroin. I can't speak to that but I can to cigarettes. Smoked on and off for years and quit for good about 7 years ago. There are times I still want one. If you don't now boys and girls - don't start.

I love my phone's camera. It's a Samsung and has amazing zoom. View attachment 3565582

That's what I'd thought. Pretty sure she's bottom of the pecking order already. I think I can confine mom and kids in the coop, then let them out with the others. We'll figure it out.

At least this is the last time I'll deal with this. Soon, we'll have a super-coop. Turns out the cost to move a 12x24 shed 100 miles is cheaper than buying even a small pre-fab! When it's all ready for chickens, we're building in a brooder/penalty box. :clap View attachment 3565603
Oh that’s so wonderful you’re going to move your shed. Take your time and really write down what you dislike about your current setup, then make a list off what you need and what you want.

I suggest going and looking at some of the coop builds that are shown here on BYC. I saw a fabulous one a couple weeks ago.

What I did with the silkies was to keep them in the broody nestbox with a small area outside it - like you’re doing. And then once everyone was out for the day I let them roam the Hen House. It cause grief for the others as they had to lay their eggs somewhere else, I moved a couple nestboxes out into the main barn for them. Once the silkie chicks were a couple weeks old I let them out with the others while I watched, but it wasn’t until they were over 4 weeks old that they roamed freely.

Meanwhile my school chicks were roaming at large at 3 weeks - but they were bigger than the silkies at that age and could fly! I think yours will be fine by 3 weeks old.

And what do you celebrate on July 4th?
We just selebrate liberty day but we say it in Italian, we also don't really say happy fourth of July. However we do say happy day of liberty! Andsome pf my neighbors use fireworks every year and sometimes the chicken dog Thor gets scared so he sleeps in the coop with them instead of in his dog house located outside of the coop in the feed room.

Celebrating what? We were there in April for Liberation day in a little town called Agerola. It was the best time with a big party in the piazza. We practically were the only tourists and everyone was so lovely to us!
That's so cool, we just call it liberty day but the ot really translates to day of liberty so it's backwards. In Italian it's called Giorno della Libertà when directly translating from English.

In that case Happy Liberty Day!

Fireworks are a big topic here, some have more problems with them than others. This past weekend was our Canada Day and of course fireworks - which scare my horses and cause the chickens to be restless in their coop.

I have cameras in the barn and coop so if the animals get too upset I go out and make sure they are ok.

You will have to post a photo of Thor 😊 we have theme days here Sundays are Pony Sunday we’re everyone posts photos of their horses, cows, goats, dogs, iguanas 😊 etc
