That comb really is spectacular!Mugs Monday
My phone was taken over by the Empress. She wanted to take cool photos for BeakBook but forgot I could see them as well.

Anger is the word. I very much want to personally make her life miserable. Maybe make her attend a bunch of training classes and then fire her for cause any way. Intimate to everyone that inquires about her that she was fired for cause.
Yes that. Like Bob I am appalled and had an immediate strong instinct on reading about it to drive up there and do battle!
I really think the union should intervene - isn't it there to protect its members? Or maybe the manager is a union member too.
This makes me very mad.
It's like a mini sun shade for the one eye! That comb really is spectacular!

That is wild. What did you eat before bed?You are responsible for a very vivid dream I had last night. Well you, but also @Ponypoor, @RebeccaBoyd, and @GregnLety .
I dreamt I was urgently trying to get everyone back into the Chicken Palace. This is an evening routine for me so not unusual except there was some menace - a storm or a pack of coyotes or some combination. I was fearful but also very action oriented.
I had just about managed to get everyone in when I spot a tiny chick running around outside.
At first I was just 'hey get in here' and then I realized I don't have any chicks nor a rooster.
And then there were more chicks.
I walked back to investigate where they were coming from and found a previously unknown (but strangely familiar) walled garden that was very overgrown and neglected and incidentally had a whole heap of the pots I need in real life to take some cuttings this Fall.
In this walled garden were at least three gorgeous roosters, a collection of unfamiliar hens, and chipmunk chicks running everywhere.
While I was standing there one of the roos - a huge beautiful chap a bit like Cholo but with more red - caught and battered to death a very large rat.
And at that point I woke up with a start.
Dream tax: hens at work

If you are going to consider a new camera think about getting an out of date phone off of ebay. You can use it as a tablet for internet and pictures without a cell phone plan. Even the Samsung S10 has an amazing camera on it.you are so good at picture taking!
please enter this in POW, and in the calendar one if you think it has enough 'background' to it for what they want!

Way to go crop girl! You must be so proud of how you helped her. Just and amazing story.I really wanted to laugh at this - but also send you hugs!
I have (if I counted correctly - they don't like to stand still long enough!) 61 babies - the oldest is the 5 that cross beak is a part of, the youngest hatched sometime Sat night. (Crop girl is a mum!! She is brooding 6 babies - yay for her!!!) And I still have a few more broodies sitting - 2 due to hatch any day now...and who knows about timing for two more
I will say, though, that I cheated slightly - I ordered 15 meat birds (red ranger type - I will never do CX again, personally), and bought a couple pullets& s.r. to put under a mom who only hatched 1 chick as previously mentioned.
