I am not sure the Princesses are good for my blood pressure.

There was a fox around this morning (saw on camera) and I came to sit in my chair in the Chicken yard and was confronted with this.
Noooooo!!!! Not Piglet.

Of course as I rushed towards her lifeless body I spotted that she was sound asleep.

She was quite good natured about being woken up so abruptly and quickly settled back down.

And comforted herself with a snack.

Am I the only gullible chicken tender that keeps falling for this?
I need a drink to steady my nerves.

No no, you are not the only gullible chicken tender here. I had a similar situation with my barred rock Stripe, which passed away months ago. She once was laying down in the middle of the chicken run, not moving at all! So I picked her up and started to examine her to try and figure out what happened, but just then she opened her eyes, looked at me, and launched herself out of my grasp and ran away!

Fluffy Butt Friday pictures and news so good I have to share it even though it isnt chicken related.

Chickens first of course!!

Now the good news. It requires a bit of backstory first though:

I was adopted back in 1976 @ the age of 13 months. Back then they did closed adoptions and the adoptee had no way to find any information about their birth parents.

Then many states including the state where I was born passed the adoptee right to know law. At this point I was able to obtain my original birth certificate. I tried to find my birth parents several times since getting it but to no avail. About 6 yrs ago I even went so far as to do the DNA test at Ancestry.com. Still no trace of them only very distant matches. So, I put it behind me figuring that was that and I wouldn’t be able to find out more. Also, my adoptive parents are amazing and I felt I had tried and could leave well enough alone.

Then today I got a message from Ancestry.com. A new match and a message from them. Turns out the message is from my half-brother that I never knew existed and he knew our mom. We are talking and may even visit each other!!

I am floored guys, you could knock me over with a feather 🪶 Incredible science doing amazing things connecting people and now I have a chance to learn about my biological mother and my brother. So cool!!
That is sooo awesome. Congratulations and thanks for sharing it with us.
