I really am having a great birthday today. Usually I like to be alone, by myself and not be bothered, but today seems different than previous birthdays. Lots of kind greetings from friends and family. And the chooks are behaving themselves today. (I wonder what could be wrong, that I haven’t noticed yet?) :old :frow:clap
Happy birthday 🎈🎁🎊

Those babies dust bathing are adorable!

I see you put a box in that corner and she didn’t use it to escape him. I think it needs to be further out from the wall so they can both run right around it. Not a squeeze tight space.
You can always remove it at night if they all want to cuddle up there. But at least you know during the day she can dodge and weave.

You want to create the possibility for this sort of thing :

Oh! Someone said give her something to get behind. I hadn't thought about around. The box has no back, it's cut out like a dog house door, so the chicks could run in. Eenie could fit too. But I'll move it away from the walls.

She looks plenty feisty enough that she just needs to be able to escape and not get cornered.
Having something the chicks can escape underneath and she can run around will help a lot I think.
She is pretty impressive how she commands the chicks, so I think if you create enough obstacles she can run around and enough places for them to hide under they will all be just fine!
Same goes for the run.
My Chicken Palace is designed with this in mind with little doors between different sections and lots of tree stumps in any big open area. The littles often escape Bernie by going around and around.
And I get to enjoy Bennie Hill style chases!

Happy Friday!

1 1/2 gallons of peanut butter and chocolate ice cream! (From my neighbor who works at our post office and is a friend of mine and my chooks.) yumm yumm :drool
That’s a lot of ice cream! I have never tried peanut butter and chocolate ice cream, but I think I would be willing to give it a go!
