I had a lifelong friend die from a brain tumor. He had been my friend since junior high school. And we went everywhere together. Even received our private pilots license at the same place and time. As he was progressing in his sickness, his friend was always there to help him with whatever he needed. He took him to church, took him to museums and amusement parks. Gave him a good time while he progressed into oblivion. Now he’s at peace and I’m kinda jealous of that. I WAS A TRUE FRIEND, he told me.
I’m proud to have been his friend!
Rest well now with the angels Brian. When I’m done with this project, I’ll be coming to see you! :highfive:

Awwwww isn’t it wonderful when they get to that stage? They all look so cozy and comfy ❤️

Tell me, how is it up your way? Any fire danger? I am just gobsmacked about Yellowknife and Kelowna 😢😢😢 (cities being evacuated for forest fires - cities!!!).

Twister saying hi ❤️ She is a darling!
Hi Twister! :frow

Thanks for asking regarding the fires. We have been lucky this summer. Although two towns were evacuated, no structures or lives were lost. The firefighters worked hard and we had firefighters from across Canada helping. We are now in normal autumn weather, 15C during the day and 7C at night.

Haha 😆! When Goneril jumped up on the roost, the three hens closest all stood up in surprise, but eventually settled down.

The littles are thirteen weeks old now and I am seeing more side by side dust baths and interactions instead of running as a main flock and a sub-flock. Goneril was even checking out the nest box today!
Isn't it wonderful when they become one flock! 🥰

It is wayyyyy to early for Goneril to be thinking about laying - I suspect she is just curious what all the fuss is about regarding those nest box spaces!🫣

Thankfully my stomach was okay, it was a high fever, chills, and muscle aches that got me but only for about 24 hrs afterwards. Not fun but there is much worse when it comes to cancer treatments.

Since it is a trial there are no guarantees it will help but I hope it does. It takes quite a bit of proof to get to the human trial phase @ least that is my understanding of the process.

During the wide excision surgery they will remove several lymph nodes closest to the lesion, they call these sentinel lymph nodes and they find them by injecting dye. They will send them to be biopsied and it could take up to two weeks to get the results from that.

After that if they are clear I will just go back for frequent skin checks. If they are not clear then lots more scans will be ordered PET scans, MRIs, basically all hell will break loose. I try not to think about that to much.

Thank you for the support, its felt and it means more then you know. 🤗

Thank you so much ☺️ its not over quite yet Monday will be the last injection of vaccine. The good thoughts are welcome and appreciated. 💕
Hoping for the best so you can put this behind you.
:fl:hugs

He is a handsome boy! Does he know it yet? Or do the girls keep him in line?🤭🤭

So many fires everywhere - fires or floods or hurricanes. Tragedy everywhere these days, it seems.
I'm glad you are safe. I honestly can't (?don't) keep track of where everyone is (other than general country) to know if it is bad where they are....so I am glad @Ponypoor brought it up - and that you are okay.

Yes, that's what I told Goneril. Don't grow up too fast little one!

I have to say that it has been fascinating watching these chicks grow up and integrate with the flock. I took lots of time off from work, so that I could be present and it has been so great!
