Sorry I have no ideas at all - but thinking of both of you.I made a decision to treat Anna for mycoplasma. It may be too late now, but I'm giving her a chance. Since it was suspected with Peanut I'm saying it's in the flock already anyway. It explains Anna's eyes, keeping them closed, and my sense the last three days that particularly the left one is too dark, and yesterday thinking I saw a red color, like conjunctivitis on one side of her eye.
I called the vet yesterday about it and asked about antibiotics or what could explain the eyes closed, her pecking the air trying to eat as if she's blind, etc and how she's not improved much from the Corid treatment. No call back, so four hours later I called again, and they said finish the Corid (last day was yesterday) and after the weekend if she's no better we'll evaluate.
So today she scratched her head, I've seen that and noted that though she is weak, she has good balance, also when doing the ballet stretch.
But her eye began bleeding, or showing blood. I knew I wasn't seeing things before.
Had been thinking I would try the Terramycin ointment. So got some systane drops in there, wet a q-tip with it too, and then tried to gently wipe her eye out. A little bit of mucus, then a clotted piece of blood came out. Put Terramycin in both eyes.
Gave her .06 ml of 10% Baytril, she's .583 kg, so .1ml Baytril per kg = .0583 ml, I gave her .06 ml. Hope that's right. Unfortunately have to be away almost all day at a gig. Gave her 2ml water also. I don't think she can eat or drink on her own.
I will try to check in. If anybody has advice let me know.
Related or not, somebody has sneezed since they first arrived from the hatchery, and now that they're banded I know it's Ida. I'm pretty sure she has a respiratory infection, I hear it in her voice. Her eyes seem good though. She has been sneezing regularly, & sprayed me a couple times lately. They are no longer on the Corid water, it's been five days and Anna is really not much better. I don't think it's Coccidiosis but the run improvements are underway and that's good anyway.
