Actually now the bed is made up with a bit of space for me she is being very sweet and snuggles up to my bad back and provides heat therapy and vibration therapy (purring) all night.
I am sure that helps my back.
I hope she helps you heal quickly. :hugs :hugs

Poor baby. How many times have you drained her now?
Red hasn't been drained at all - I have been putting it off, but last night she was gasping, so I have to do it now. I just talked with my Vet he has a butterfly needle for me to use this time around, it is a needle with a long thin tube that you attach the syringe to, with way it makes the needle sit more stable and I don't have to worry about moving the needle around in the hens abdomen.

I will run up there in a few minutes and grab the stuff, then see if my BIL will pop down to help drain her.

I also chatted with my vet about if she doesn't improve, then will look at euthanizing her. I really shouldn't have let Tuff go so long but with chickens you really don't know do you sometimes?

That is pretty much me at the moment.
I had to relocate into the guest bedroom as I have done something to my back and the mattress in the guest room is better.
The guest room is the domain of this lady. She has strong views about the location of pillows and blankets. So making up the bed for me to sleep in was pretty much like this.
She may only be one cat but she is very muscular and hard to ignore.

Look at that kitty! She has that look as if to say “Well, there goes the neighborhood!”

It is hard to judge when the time is right. I always err towards giving them extra time. I would have done the same. It is difficult to end a life. :hugs :hugs
