I've never heard of tank de-icer. Is it some sort of safe chemical?Yea I think we can resubmit if it has won elsewhere.
Not sure why you have ice in you water down there we haven’t had it that cold - yet! Tonight though it supposed to be below freezing. I’ll cover the horses water trough to help keep the water from freezing. It’s way to early to put the tank de-icer in there.
Proud mama and her chick's. What a beautiful sightThis is Sophia’s colouring. And she is the only one I have with wattles not sure if that means anything as Mr P has wattles - can those be passed along when combined along a hen with no wattles and no comb?

I considered getting one for my Princesses but decided to use a heated base instead.
Oh, good reminder, time to switch over from bug zapper to heated waterer base. Well, maybe no rush. I’ve got a few weeks yet although it is getting down to freezing at night next week.
Tax: Bernie with a face full of mash. She does not seem to be molting but she hasn’t laid an egg in ten days. She doesn’t seem ill and certainly has a healthy appetite!
