Don’t knock it. I pay good money for a “naked chicken”! Haircut (it’s all the rage!)I look forward to seeing those pictures, I bet they are looking fabulous now.
My gang is still working on it. Brownie who got hit the hardest and earliest is almost completely done. She really just needs her tail feathers to finish lengthening. Everyone else that was due to molt is doing so at much more sedate rate and no one is sporting the naked chicken look.
Bernie is still in full on molt - one tail feather remains. But Babs hasn't started!!I look forward to seeing those pictures, I bet they are looking fabulous now.

Lovely pictures as always!
I hope you feel better soon being ill and dealing with such stress is not good for you either.Chill comes and goes. I'm currently in flannel which helps.
Twirp is snuggled up with Whiskey who felt like a HOT water bottle when I carried him inside. House kitchen is temping at about 60, so warmer than coop. She's drunk quite a bit of water with electrolytes in it. I don't have any low dose aspirin but do have some Tylenol. As it's after dark now, I'm going to let her sleep snuggled with Whiskey tonight, while working out a way to get some into her in the morning. I haven't seen her eating, but Whiskey has been trying to tempt her with everything (and eating himself). Had biscuits with dinner, so will try tempting with them in the morning. Sardines, cornbread, and pumpkin are on the list tomorrow (as I have several to process). And mash.
Today, higher priority was doctoring wounds, getting fluids in and warming her. Got that dealt with. Letting her rest for now, with a last check before I head for bed and warm up.
I think my niece sent over something like it I must check or maybe it’s Vetrx,…They are both fine. Blucote would color the wound so other hens don't peck at it. They are drawn to the red color of an open wound. I would not mix in another hen until I colored or converted the wound.
Am I crazy everyone? I thought vetricyn was colored.
The saline is very good for washing.
I did research and found I could get a little machine with 99.9 percent silver rods. I've use this but on researching further I found someone who is really knowledgeable and buy it from them nowThe clindamycin is capsules. I had a Rx for pre-med for dental work (heart murmur) but I got them from both the Dr and the Dentist, so I have some left over.
I don't have colidial silver. Where would I buy that?
I know! It's terrible. I would think that, but we've had no predator problem since the snake and really, Eenie and the chicks have spent most of their time in the coop, which is pretty darn secure. It had to have been Manny, then others (Meanie, I'm looking at you).
Oh no!Tina is dying. She was up and about yesterday but seriously poorly now
I think the fireworks may have rushed this on. I have her inside right now and don't know how to help her
