Not all chickens find out how to eat it from the cob, so I usually at least crack it off the kernel. And it's better digested if you actually crack it in smaller pieces so that's what we usually do, with a rock the size of a fist on a flat rock. The hard thing is stopping the chickens from getting their beaks under there while we smash it.
If you give it to them whole it helps to tie it or block it somehow so it doesn't keep moving while they peck.

Twofer Tuesday. It looks like I copied Kelly but I actually had the first two pics before she posted- great minds/chickens think alike 😁.

It's a wind storm kind of night now...hoping to keep power until it's time for bed !
I’m doing it all wrong. I pick every kernel off the ear of corn 🌽 and feed it to my chooks. It’s more personal that way.

As for the corn stalks, what should I do to get those ready for the chickens? Take the cobs off? Chop it? Or just haul one stalk in there every so often and let the ladies go to town? Dad says he wants a few for the deer and all he'll do is put them in the woods. Do I have to crack the kernels?
I would peel back the leaves from the ears of corn (they can stay on the stalk, if you want - or not) and just throw them in the run. Or, you can take the ears off, peel of the husk, and hang the ears. They will mostly just scratch the corn stalk leaves - and eventually shred those and you will be left mostly with the stalk itself after a while (and the cobs from the corn - nicely depleted of kernels!)

Two for Tuesday:
These two may seem to be rushing off to important business, but you know that if it’s Becky on a sunny day…

They were just dashing to a comfy spot before they broke down!

Gorgeous pictures as always Manue!
But I am in awe of you taking corn off the cob for your chickens!
I hang mine up or walk around holding the stall or the leaves so they jump up to grab some.

Your ladies look so comfortable, and it looks nice there. Hope the wind isn’t too bad.

Oh - oh. Looks like you have some AFCU-TSG wanna-bes! (American Federated Chicken Union - Tree Sitter's Guild) better watch out - they may unionize on you!!!
I made sure their total compensation package was of greater value than with the union 😆

Happy workers and all that jazz 😁
