Egg update

Checked the eggs today, day 12. Good blood vessel growth and good movement of the embryo 💕❤️
I feel happy for you! I remember the first time I hatched eggs. It was so exciting!

We are only taught to write in cursive. I think it's the case for most european countries , except the one that don't teach writing anymore.
Writing simple was quite difficult for me when I did my 4th and 11th grade in the US.

Speaking of difference between Europe and the US I have a question about Greek yogurt which some of you said is better for chickens. (By the way, Lilly refused completely the yogurt so I have been sneaking in a tea spoon in the flock's mash for a few days). Here Greek yogurt is not a controlled appellation so basically it can be anything ranging from yogurt with added cream, sheep yogurt, or cow yogurt that has been filtered three times instead of two. The only common point is that it has more fat and usually tastes softer than plain yogurt.
What exactly do you call greek yogurt ?

Thirsty from a few days ago. This is not my new hype waterer, it's an old bowl that gets rained into and all the chickens and cats seem to think it tastes better, especially after some maturing.

The rock next to it is what we use to smash our corn. It's Inca corn, I think you call it decorative corn, so definitely tougher and starchier than the sweet corn we grow for ourselves but it keeps much better.
The one we have has a more sour taste than normal yogurt. At least to me. I eat it with honey.

Is it that the standard for learning cursive is in 1st grade?
In my elementary school, they taught cursive in 3rd grade. One letter at a time. I was so antsy to use it that I would purposely print the letters we hadn't "learned yet" and write the ones we had. When we were down to X, Y, and Z, the teacher said, "Do you think we can do all 3 today?"

Oh, yeah. Yes, already!

I have nice penmanship when I try and have the time.

If I'd had Mrs. Sears in 5th grade, I would have had better penmanship. That was a real bee in her bonnet. Instead, I had Mr. Festerling, who was one of the best teachers I had in that school. Ok, he and Mrs. Beuge (dang, I can't remember how to spell it; it was pronounced "Biggie") were tied for the best.

Yup, I tripped over my pant leg last week as I was removing my outer clothes, I wear double pants when it gets cold.

Anywhoo down I went with a crash almost crushing the cat… 😆

So yup I do stuff like that.

This week it was Fluffy tripping me up, I was backing up hauling the wheelbarrow out of a stall and she was behind me, I tripped over her and only my holding onto the wheelbarrow kept me upright. She squawked and ran off, so o had to run after her to make sure she was ok.

Chiiiiikeeeeens!
Be careful my friend. And for sure I have to remind myself of that said advice 🤔

Me too. My sister was 4 years older, and taught me to write my name in cursive when I was in 1st grade. I wrote it on one of my papers, and the teacher got mad at me. "No, in 1st grade you print. You will learn cursive in 3rd grade."

Miss Hersey, you were no inspiration, that's for sure.

"joined up writing"? I never heard that one before.
I've only heard joined up writing a couple times.

Those kinds of people are the ones I don't like. There's no reason to get mad at someone because they're smarter than they should be.
