@RebeccaBoyd I will keep all of you in my thoughts. I don't know if you have ever talked about BYC with Grandma, maybe you can tell her how sad we all are for her loss and for all of you.
:hugs :hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs

I so wish this week would end, that I was convinced it was saturday a good part of the day, so I forgot to take butt pictures.
I have one huge butt from yesterday. Kara has the biggest butt of my chickens and even though she has only been here since May, I’m beginning to worry she may have had some discussions with Queen Aurora on beakbook.

Omg same. I always try to explain to the gals that the weather is not my fault. If I hang with them in the run during lousy weather their tone changes tho. We sometimes stare at one another, me in my coop, (the house) and them in their coop and run. 🤣🥰👀🐓❤️
When it's windy or raining, the birds complain to me
They think I control the weather 🤣

Oooooh! Her gold dust! Does she fly fairly well? (Is she part pixie?)

Does it seem like they’re looking for a narrower perch to roost on than the shelf option? I know chickens technically sleep with their feet laid out and not gripping, but I have also read that they enjoy having their butts be able to hang lower than the rest of their bodies. Forgot where I read that.
Nope - it’s the height they want my window ledges are as wide as my roosting ledges. They all want to roost there. I even had Curly up there when I had the regular roosts in place last year. It’s high up and in the summer at night has a nice breeze.

I’m afraid no gold, no pixie, just plain copper...she is BCM X Harko.
When she arrived here she used to fly quite well. She has a lot of power in her wings. Now she doesn't show any inclination to, and she has put on a lot of weight has morphed into a voluptuous stately hen.
