Those look great....but they're too big for my small feet. I wear a junior 2...2 sizes smaller than they offer. Knitting socks can make for some fantastic designs, but takes some time, too. On the other hand, having socks tailored to my foot shape: AWESOME!

Alpaca makes for incredibly light and warm socks....HOWEVER it WILL felt no matter what you do. Merino wool you can wash in cold water, lay flat to dry and have it wear for years. Alpacs will felt even in cold water, and will do some just in shoes while you wear it. We learned this the hard way.

Note to self - refrain from buying alpaca wool items!

Gosh I love the colouring of your chooks.

Sister in law said she just customized a vanilla sock pattern to fit my feet!
The yarn is Malabrigo sock, which is EXCELLENT, so soft and smooth.
I just looked it up. LOVELY yarn!
One of the sock patterns in my library that I want to make eventually.
Oh, those look like a blast to make. You have the same sense of "fun things to do" that I do!
