It would be nice if I had someone who could regularly watch my dog, who didn’t also cost an arm and a leg. We often end up at my in-law’s spontaneously and stay overnight (they’re not even too far, maybe a 40 min drive), but they relish having the grandkids sleep over.
My poor dog hates wearing clothes, but she has her special “garage coat” for those days (they do let her in the garage at least, which stays in the 40s/50s (above 5 C)).
The chickens and fish tanks fend for themselves on those days.

View attachment 3709543Quincy has enjoyed a four month break from egg laying, but recently her comb darkened up.

I’m also wildly curious to see if she will buddy up with Perry. I had read on one of Shadrach’s threads that chickens of the same breed/appearance tend to gravitate to one another… if so, then is the draw stronger than age and rank? We shall see!
