I've tried this... sort of. I kept running the solution down the back of my throat. Yuck. I got the "surgilator" or whatever it was called. Haven't stuck with it enough to say it helps.

I have suggested this to hubby for his sinus issues. HARD NO from him.

I feel like I should set a good example.

I am a big Netipt believer. There is a bit of a knack to using it but it really helps me.

On December 9th, Robin laid a record egg: 84 grams.

Today, Pip topped that with an 85 gram egg.

My little Pippy! I told her she doesn't ever have to lay one that large again. It's probably a double yolk; we'll know in a few days.

All 5 of my pullets are laying now.

You need to be extremely careful and use sterile water if you use the neti pot or other irrigation for your nasal and sinus issues.

There have been incidents of amoeba infections in the brain from using non sterile water.

Yes. I use freshly boiled water. Or bottled distilled water.

Well, if so, evidently only AFTER she was done laying - as he was far too close to her without attempting to open the window to serve her the 'mealworm burger delight with a small side of sunflower seeds'

[Or else the pterodectly screech was because the service was so bad/slow??? "Hey, you - how dare you walk by and not take my order!"]

It seems it is not only ill-mannered people who yell at and abuse food service workers!

Hi everyone, and Merry Christmas!

Sorry I haven’t been on in so long. I had already been having trouble keeping up with the thread and then my life pretty much imploded right before Thanksgiving. He is doing ok, but my husband had a heart attack and then a quadruple bypass. This came at a horrible time, as he will soon lose his disability payments for his shoulder surgery, and since his company laid him off in July when his 12 weeks FMLA were used up, he can’t file a new claim for the cardiac issues. It will probabaly be at least theee months before he can even think about looking for work, and we don’t know yet if he will ever be able to work in his industry again due to the health issues. We are thinking about applying for social security disability, but can’t afford an attorney and don’t know how to find a good one that works on a contingency basis.

On top of all that, between his heart attack and his surgery we found out our main property had been robbed and basically trashed (we were at our other property for deer season and the holidays). They stole all four Harley’s, his great grandfather’s 1965 Chevy pickup that he had bought brand new and had been in the family ever since, and pretty much cleaned out or destroyed everything else. So I have also been having to deal with detectives and insurance companies.

Other than that I guess we have been doing ok, lol. My newest chicks are almost full grown. My husband calls them the flutter-bots because of the way they run out and flutter around when we open the coop.

Hugs to you and your husband, that's a huge deal Hoping for a great recovery for him, and as little stress as possible dealing with insurance! It might help you both to expect ahead of time some real down feelings to emerge as part of the recovery process, at least that's what I've heard about it, it's a physical reaction that can happen, so get support wherever you can find it. On the other hand, I know some people who felt so much better than they did before the attack and bypass surgery that they don't go through that at all.

Burglary & trashing your house, that's just terrible. It really insults our sense of community. People can be horrible sometimes. I'm very sorry you've had all this to go through.

Re decision on disability - I agree you might contact your local legal aid society to start, and get some idea of who is out there in your area. Anyone you know who has done it also is a resource. I think there is a cap on attorney's fees for SSDI prior to any appeals, and usually consults are free. There may be an Office For The Aging in your county, and whether you're the right age or type of case for them or not, they will send you to the right place in an unbiased way, and they might have recommendations. Good luck to you, whatever you decide!

Sorry it's a joke here in uk. Men always seem to suffer more than women when they get colds.

Now I feel like I'm honestly suffering so I'm calling it man flu. My chest is painful and I can't stop sneezing .

Painful chest is concerning. Check for Covid after a couple of days and get treatment if you can, it really helps. Whatever it is I hope you feel better soon!

Be still my heart! Two black bearded ladies that are dual purpose - and one with Feathered legs!!! How could anyone want anything more (well, other than a few stripes, that is) Especially since they FLY, too!!! They are both so gorgeous. ( I know, your fascinator ladies are all that and a sandwich, too, but, really, I am smitten!!)
