Even though not full light yet, birds fed/watered. Sherlock went out with me, not allowed in coop.

Decided on turkey and noodles (homemade) for dinner tonight so had to get one of the turkey breasts out of the freezer in the garage. Will get it started in an hour or so (when it's thawed enough to get the wrapper off). Plenty of eggs, so noodles will be easy this afternoon. Having it simmering in the kitchen will smell good, too.

Mornin.
Gramma offered to take kiddo for a few hours so I can spot clean the coop and throw more bedding down. Kiddo isn't feeling too hot today, but she slept through the night finally.
Just started a loaf of bread, I love my bread machine. I don't fill it in the "proper" order though because I like to pre bloom my yeast for maximum bread fluffiness.

Hubby gets tomorrow off, his shop said with the storm they don't want people potentially getting hurt for overtime. This is only the second time they've closed due to weather since he's started there 12 years ago.
I'm happy though, more hubby time is always good. ❤️

Yep calling for up to 25 of snow here then rain on top of that - ugh! Then it’s supposed to become really cold! So I better get everything snow plowed and shovelled up tomorrow. Also get snow off the vehicles, nothing worse than frozen snow on the trucks.

I will also get the chooks moved into Hen House B we’re it will be warmer for them. Mary and Red can stay in the feedroom if it’s too chilly for them - Marty is still getting her feathers in.

Color chicks: likely sex-linked. Cockerels barred, pullets not. Probably all blue. Partial crests and funky combs a high possibility.
Might just get a couple eggs then in that case - if she lays any normal eggs. I am not sure if she is or not.

Someone in Hen House A laid a soft egg overnight / this morning. Not sure who but think it’s a silkie egg - Curly?? Or maybe Eli-too, I think she lays pink eggs, Fluffy was in the nestbox when I left for work. Will need to keep any eye on them tomorrow.

Yum. I never made noodles myself before. Maybe I should try!

I came across this site while posting in Kijiji (eggs for sale), interesting site - explains things like organic, cage raised, pastured, etc.
I just want to point out one thing about the list of labels, in case someone didn't know. If something is labeled "organic," it is also non-GMO.

Thanks for that link!
