Yeah, me too. I did drive by the pastor’s house and delivered a lasagna dinner for the both pastor and his recovering wife.Good to hear you are better.

Save Gumbo! Save the roo! Think on what you’re doing. Roos need love too!Okay… I need some help convincing my mom to let me do something that I will probably regret later on. My Agriculture teacher knows someone who is selling two Silkie’s, and I need them. They are about five months old, but one is supposed to be a pullet, and the other a cockerel. They cost $50 together, but I want them so badly. Could those of you (@Ponypoor, @RebeccaBoyd and anyone else) who own silkie’s, could y’all make me a list of why I SHOULD get silkies. They are my mom’s favorite type of chook (and I love them as well) so I feel like they would be a wonderful addition to my flock. Also, the reason I would regret it later on is because of how muddy they would get. Let’s not talk about that though… I know darn well that I am gonna need to take them inside and bathe them.
Oh, and I might have found a home for Gumbo the little rooster. If not, then he will be going to freezer camp in a few weeks. I don’t really like him all that much.
I think my roof pitch may be too steep for that - though I love the idea! I am thinking I will try tossing peanuts out in the open - the squirrels avoid that because it makes the vulnerable to hawks. My neighbor feeds the crows by launching food (peanuts or leftovers) up onto his roof. Since the crows know he does this he is on their radar: they swarm and it’s gone in minutes.
He also has a feeder full of peanuts, but the dratted invasive squirrels and rats use it.
We’ll see. I’m not very fond of him, but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to send him to Freezer Camp. If he does end up going to FC, know that he has had cuddles from me quite often, so he knows that he is “loved.”Save Gumbo! Save the roo! Think on what you’re doing. Roos need love too!![]()
Ah, I could also get those. If the Silkie chickens don’t work out, I might as well get one of those. You are best to go for these. They are cheap and easy to manage. Not to mention, handy to have around the house:

Yes but usually they just swoop down and steal what they want - cheeky birds! When we went on our Alaska trip (we ended our trip in Vancouver, that’s where this takes place) we were at a restaurant and we walked around with our croissants and we saw a raven. My dad decided to give him a piece of my croissant. Lucky bird that day. I’m sure they get all that good stuff a lot.
Both of our faults!View attachment 3725531
Oh really? All my fault? Better be careful or else the Tax Karens will come.
Tax in above photo.
Well you don’t need silkies, you wish to have and enjoy silkies.Okay… I need some help convincing my mom to let me do something that I will probably regret later on.
