Maybe. I think one reason is because he doesn’t want me to start jumping. He knows that I’m getting bored of Dressage and wanted to start jumping. He’s afraid that I’m gonna have a bad fall. That might be why. It’s a stupid reason though. I know the risks and I’m willing to take them.

If finances are tough, and he’s worried you’ll fall, then it’s not really on you to make the call about the risks. Medical care is $$$

Well, some Saturday this turned out to be.
A can’t mow the weeds and grass in the yard, because it’s just too darn wet . All I’m doing was digging holes in the mud. I’m gonna wait till I can get a good 3 days of sunshine, before I try again. I’m tired I’m hurting and I’m hungry. (And that’s all I have to say about that!)

Poor Mr Pompeii has an embarrassing moment this morning, he ran up to Petunia to breed her she was willing - and then when he hopped on her he tripped forward and fell off her.

Petunia did a double take unsure what happened then shook her feathers and I swear she shrugged and sashayed away

Mr Pompeii looked around, saw that I had seen that and cackled at me - likley telling me off for watching

I found a feed without many simple sugars in it for him, and he is in a dry lot now with a high quality hay net to make him pace himself. When it wasn't so cold and boggy, I soaked his hay to get sugar out before feeding. He actually couldn't pick up any of his feet before the management change. Right now he has a very stretched white line, so shoes aren't an option till that regrows. He's feeling himself for sure though, because he's holding his own against his 5 and 8 year old pasture mates! He's about 13 by the way. (From the less soggy summer.)View attachment 3740084

Get him some boots - Lulu also can’t wear shoes - I got her a pair of boots and she wears those when I rode her. We don’t do anything other than walk and a bit of slow trotting.

Yes, but less often than a few months ago, and Babs has been able regrow the feathers on the back of her head.
More recently Bernie has been showing some interest in Pooh.
