I knew that one.

And that's why tax exists. Because if you go off topic you're supposed to pay up.

For the life of me I don’t know what they are asking for - likely mealworms…

Hens abused? I'm missing something.
Oh, it was awful.
Last year for Agriculture (FFA) I went to a Poultry Evaluation Competition, and I had to evaluate four live laying hens (Factory White Leghorns) and four live meat birds (Cornish Crosses.) all eight of them were in bad condition (well, obviously the meat birds, because they are so fat. They couldn’t even walk.) but the poor factory hens. They all had crossed and chipped beaks, their toenails were over an inch long, and they were terrified. I mean, if kids (most of them who didn’t know how to hold them) were touching them and picking them up, I would be pretty scared too. I’m probably one of the only people who pet them to try to comfort them. One of the hens bit me, and it made me sad. Poor thing was so scared. She ended up biting another kid after she bit me, and the stupid kid dropped her. I didn’t even bother to pick up or touch the meat birds. I just looked at them and judged which one was the fattest.

The only reason I’m doing it again this year is so that perhaps I can annoy the people into selling them to me. I wish that I could steal them and run, but I don’t plan on being a criminal. Would it really be a crime though, if I’m just trying to save innocent animals from being killed? After the Comp, they are all likely killed.

Oh, and they didn’t have food or water the whole competition, and it lasted for over 8 hours. Pure animal abuse.

This is one time I'm mad. Screw those people hosting this. They can go without food or water for a day or two and experience the life of those poor hens.

Do everything possible to make sure those hens get treated well. If I had money, I'd dump it all on them just to give them a nice home.

And they can also lay eggs everyday for a year or two and then be killed. Wait, that sounded wrong. Oh well, that’s what’s happening to those poor factory hens- who cares about the people?

I don't care about those people. But if they could feel the way those hens feel they might change their minds unless they're cold hearted.

And those hens need a home. Yours would probably be perfect. They will need a separate coop (I am concerned about biohazards) but they will be happy with you I'm sure.

And if they're Leghorns, you could probably get a lap chicken out of one sooner or later. I seem to have gotten Josey to trust my lap more lately.
