FWIW, we found the missing ball mid afternoon when the melting started to reveal it. And the snow started up again around sun down. Meanwhile Sherlock tried burrowing under the snow. He got his head buried all the way to his shoulders. ..and popped back up hard a second before I snapped the pic....View attachment 3743139

Hahaha he is such a ham, dogs and snow - so funny!

Your deer are different from the white tail we have here.

My gang see snow and generally don’t venture too far, wimps hahaha.

Happy Wednesday!
My in-laws came over today to watch the kiddos, so I was able to make huge strides in the chicken’s extended run make-over. Meanwhile, the gang got several hours out free ranging- partly because I took down the existing fencing to replace it, and partly because I needed peace to work! Look at these opinionated Olives.

It was clear that Perry had been planning her next free time out ahead of time: the moment the rest of the flock left for the garden, she bee-lined for the sand pit. View attachment 3743166
Where she took a bath that was over 45 minutes long! I wish I had timed it.

It must have felt so danged good! Clearly she hasn’t earned the right to dust bathe in front of the others yet. :idunno
Awwww so sweet she is a darling 💕😊

Hawks.

As mentioned I spent some time turning my sketch for netting on flagpoles idea into reality.

And then I watched the video on the thread attached, and have got a bit despondent. Why even bother to try?

The video isn’t gory, but it is alarming if you have hawks.

Haven’t watched it - I have a faint heart 😢

I take it the wee banty was killed ?

Good morning!

Bubba kept his bandage on overnight. I have watched him today and both he and the hens are also leaving it alone thankfully. He was walking around gingerly so he had to have pain meds. I thought I would be smart and sneak half the pill in a leftover macaroni noodle. Yeah, no, I had to end up shoving it down his throat. He is worse then the dogs and cats combined to medicate.
